Guess I can try to get the stardust bonus on community day instead.

If you're planning on playing during the community event, and will be near several lures, you might want to get your eggs close to hatching then pop a starpiece anyway. You'll still get both 3x and 50% more on catches, and the 50% bonus to the hatch dust is honestly more worthwhile in the long run than double candy would be.
Niantic always betraying our expectations... I've been hoarding hundreds of Larvitar, dozens of Chansey and about 10 Feebas to transfer on a double candy event before the Dratini invasion but it seems that my struggle to keep some space available in my storage will be in vain this time. I've been dealing with always being only 20 spaces under the max 1500 limit due to the 800+ Larvitar waiting for an honorable death just taking up space...
