I check Staraptor... and it has Wing Attack... and BRAVE BIRD? What the heck?

Rampardos may be the new Machamp depending on the meta. With Togekiss, Yanmega, and Magmortar, Rock will have new targets, and with an excellent fast move and awesome charge move with a 295 attack (61 more than Machamp!) say hello to the new common gym attacker.

Rampardos is not Machamp. It's a rock version of Alakazam.

Rock moves have more relevance in the meta than Psychic moves so Rampardos will certainly have an impact.

We are talking about Rayquaza levels of DPS here, last I checked, thats better than machamp's

Machamp wasn't the top attacker because of its neutral damage. If neutral damage was all that mattered, we'd all have been using Rays and Dnites all along instead of Machamp.

okay Brave Bird is bad. I mean it could be worse, but it still is bad.

Uhh no. Staraptor has always been a good pokemon.

And Suicune, Milotic, Skarmory, Metagross, Salamence, Wobbuffet and dozens of others were much better in the main series than they are in POGO.

I'm also disappointed that Staraptor didn't get justice because I do unique solos but I'm not surprised.

Why would we want gen 4's Pidgeot to be meta relevant? Why not make Raticate, Furret and Pidgeot itself meta relevant aswell? :/

Staraptor in the main games had respectable stats, among the best of general flying types. With an optimal moveset we would’ve had higher DPS than Rayquaza. Pretty big deal

Brave Bird was always its signature move, but yeah, unfortunately BB isn't good in GO :(. That's too bad because Staraptor was a good Bird pokemon unlike the previous non legendary birds.

This was basically my reaction too. I think the main problem with Staraptor (and Lucario) is that they made popular moves like Brave Bird and Close Combat suck really badly for whatever reason. Here's to hoping that these moves will get buffed some day.
