Is Niantic now using staggered releases for next gen Pokemon?

With the gen 2 babies out at Christmas, and the Gen 2 evolutions of Gen 1 Pokémon probably out for Feb/March, it then means that Gen 2 proper can drop for the summer, where playership is at its max.

However, this asks the question, will we see Gen 3 as a whole generation or will Niantic stagger it like they did with Gen 2?

We don't know yet if gen 2 will be staggered. We only have babies yet. Maybe they will release all the remaining Pokemon together.

They'll probably realease a few pokemon at a time untill all of gen2 finally come out, since they already said that they will be released "naturally".
A smart strategy for them would be release gen 2 along 2017 and gen3 along 2018, but... they're not smart most of the time.

But it wouldn't make sense to release 100+ new Pokémon from Gen 3 all at the same time.

Releasing Pokémon in small batches is the way forward, as this way the player base has something to focus on, rather than just 100 random Pokémon to catch with no end game.

Yes, that what i said, they should release gen2 along 2017, a few ones at time, and gen 3 along 2018 on the same rate. But niantic is notorious for screw things up, maybe they can take too long to release gen2 and we end up arriving 2018 still releasing then and with no hope for gen3. Thats sad but definately possible hahaha

Nobody knows this... Not even sure if Niantic knows.

The only thing we know for sure is that Gen 2 is staggered because the babies are out but nothing else...
