Niantic making different locations for gyms

I recently noticed a gym in my area that was near 3 pokestops got replaced with another pokestop and moved up the road at a church.. has anyone else had this happen to them ?

Similar changes happened back in August or September. There was a Pokemon Go gym located appropriately at an IRL gym down the street from me, but it changed to a pokestop.
