Is Niantic cruel?
Since the beggining I have put money like 6 times, first to get storage and mon space and since then for incubators, this one has been the last and prior to this on the halloween event.
This is that make me think if Niantic is using us just to get money...When I don't have paid incubators, with the normal one, I normally hatch 1 egg per day (I walk around 7km per day), and 99% of the eggs I get are just 5k, ocassionally I can get a 2k or a 10k, but I am noticing that when I use coins to get incubators (mostly during events like this) I get tons of 2k eggs...I know I am hatching more eggs and the probability has to increase by the number of eggs I hatch but just before the event started I cleared all my eggs to start fresh and try to get some babies, what happened this morning when I collect the 9 eggs? 6 of them where 2k! that is a LOT.
So my question is, is Niantic increasing 2k drops during events to make us waste more money and give us the sensation that babies have more odds than really is? (on 2k you have more chances of getting one).
Is someone experiencing this too?
By the way, hatched 8 eggs this morning, 0 babies...

Probably just RNG really. Nothing wrong with Niantic wanting to make money. As a free player, as long as you put it in perspective and accept you can't (won't) have the best mons in game vs a heavy spender, the game can still be enjoyable...
My son just grabbed a 10km egg since the event started so I'd guess they aren't really changing egg drops, but who knows. I grabbed 2x 2km and 1x 5km as well, but I haven't gotten a 2km egg in a little while.
First of all, let's be clear, Niantic is a company and not a charity, so it is trying to make money, it shouldn't come as a surprise.
But, Niantic also has a vested interest in keeping players interested and playing. I would be very surprised if they announced something (increased chances of getting a baby) and then lied about it.
What I think they did is increase the likelihood of getting a baby from any egg but you can still get other stuff. I don't think that they would change the egg distribution.
You probably had bad luck with what you got so far. But, like everything else in this game, keep at it and the probabilities will catch up with you.
I know, I had just probably bad luck, only wanted to see other people experiences with eggs on events like this one and check what % of each eggs you are getting, I know just my numbers 6/9 2k eggs aren't any proof, but if for example 20 other people from this forum are having similar experiences then I would probably think the egg distribution has been changed.
Anyway I will keep trying for sure at least until the incubators I bought are all used, if I keep getting 2ks at these ratio I just won't put more money on the game and just play free to play with the coins I get from gyms ;)
