Nexus 5X inverted AR camera

Had my nephew around, so decided to play PoGo with AR on.

Lo and behold! The camera was inverted!

I found out this is a Nexus 5X issue, but most photo apps software-invert around it. Evidently, PoGo does not. (http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/9/9696774/google-nexus-5x-upside-down-camera)

Any users out there know how to resolve this? I don't normally play PoGo with AR on, but for some reason, this still bothers me.
