Next Update?

Niantic has been pretty consistent in rolling updates every two weeks. It's been 3 weeks since last update and unless we get one tomorrow it will be almost 4 weeks going into next week. Also, the last update didn't really set the world on fire. We just ended a nice event mid April and events seem to be happening once/ month putting the next event into mid-may.
Niantic announced a major update per quarter for 2017 so I'm thinking with the minimal update last time, extended update delay, the current window between events, I think we are about to get the next major update next. Will it be the battling system update?
