New Sinnoh Evolutions- which movesets are better?

If you have to choose moveset for your Sinnoh Stone evolved pokemon, which will you choose knowing you will not get second pokemon of the same species?
Roserade- grass or poison?
Weavile- ice or dark?
Rhyperior- rock or ground?
Honchcrow- dark or flying?

Mamoswine and glaceon both beat weavile for ice dps, however dark it is better. But to be honest, both types on weavile are pretty sick :)

Glaceon does not beat Weavile in ice DPS. Mamoswine>Weavile>Jynx>Glaceon by pure DPS according to the DPS/TDO chart.

Despite worse moves and currently available attackers, Ground has better coverage, as the only answer to Electric (other types can better handle those that Rock is SE into). Groudon requires RC to power up, while Tyranitar candy is easy to acquire through raids (and its past CD).

Generic type coverage doesn't matter that much in Pogo unless you're into challenge solos or pokedraft. What will matter is Heatran raids, where ground is by far the superior attacking type.

...you will get more of the same species. Perhaps not immediately. Of the ones you mentioned, I'd take either Rhyperior or Roserade set, depending on what the Charge move is.

Alright, i can get more of the same species BUT... I want to have only one pokemon of each species to have diversed team. This is my playstyle from start, so i have to choose which moveset is better for those mons.

Yeah... I just don't like the idea of using multiple pokemons of the same species. By having diversed team each one of my pokemons feel unique to me and it make me think what to use. I have a few duplicates of some pokemons, but i only keep them for trading. Only pokemons i use are;
Mewtwo 95% C/SB,
Tyranitar 100% B/C
Metagross 95% BB/MS
Slaking Y/PR (gym defense)
Moltres 93% FS/O
Gyarados 98% W/HP
Espeon 93% C/FS
Vaporeon 98% WG/HP
Electivire 98% TS/WC
Machamp 100% C/DP
Alakazam 95% PC/FS
Articuno 95% FB/IB
A- Exeggutor 98% BS/SolB
Milotic 93% DT/ B (gym defense)
Golem 95% RT/SE
Charizard 95% FS/BB
Gengar 98% H/SB
Jolteon 93% TS/TB
Hariyama 98% C/DP
Snorlax 100% ZH/BS (gym defense)
Venusaur 100% VW/SolB
Houndoom 95% S/FP
Blastoise 95% WG/HC
Blissey 91% ZH/DG (gym defense)
Chansey 98% ZH/DG (gym defense)
Each of them (expert Snorlax, Blissey, Chansey and Slaking) are max out.

Your playstyle is certainly unique and i have immense respect for this kind of playstyle. Because you lack SD Tyranitar, I would go for SD/SE Rhyperior. And because you have only one dark Tyra, I would go for more dark mons by having both Weavile and Honchkrow as dark attackers. Ice Weavile is outclassed by Mamoswine and Groudon can replace the part of mamoswine being a ground attacker.

Again, immense respect

Yeah, we all pit ourselves some limitations so the game gets challenging, like going solo instead of joining other players around, non-legendary, 6-unique, NVE only, 6-Xatu, you name it. This is just more restrictive and difficult IMO. One could argue that it’s like that in the main series, but there you have 4 different moves plus abilities to make up for it.

Agreed I'm a bigger fan of the main games for that reason, you get to appreciate each individual team member a lot more because they are all you use.

Having diversed team doesn't actually make battles more difficult. Yeah, some raid bosses will take longer to beat or will be impossible, but other bosses can be defeated easier depending on others pokemons typing and raid boss moveset. Also wanting to have 6 best pokemons of each type is more future-proof than having 6x top 1 attacker.

His worse, but is not complete garbage. If you battle with full motivated Slaking using fighting types it is pretty easly to 1HKO Machamp with a single Play Rough (also where i live is autumn and weather is most of the time cloudy, so Fairy type attacks get boost). Slaking is tricky defender, and have good synergy with other normal type defenders (don't force to switch, so attacker will keep fighting with his machamp, who can be easly KO by single speed charge attack after long battle with rest of gym defense)

Ok, maybe not garbage, but it's certainly not good enough that one should actively think of putting into gyms, and this comes from a fair bit of experience fighting them and other, better, defenders. It doesn't OHKO a full HP Machamp even when boosted and it doesn't put any other pressure on the attacker so they're free to concentrate only on dodging that incoming PR.

The attacker not being incentivized to switch is a bad thing. Slaking gives some of the best gym points/time taken ratio in the game and the only cost is that it will take a few healing items if you make a mistake. Most relatively hardcore people in my area just consider it free gym exp and that's why you'll never see them putting it into gyms, it's always the less experienced players.

And now post rebalance it's not the 4th tankiest defender any more, but down to 8th. Milotic, Umbreon, Lapras and Steelix are all better and I'd argue Vaporeon is as well.

Seriously... how is anyone supposed to answer this?!?!? Everyone has different needs and different playing styles... use the ample amount of resources available and figure out what works for you

You are supposed to answer with your opinion. At the end, we will have a picture of how many people prefer each moveset for each of these relevant pokemon.

Well you can just vote without giving any answer why, but some people also jiustified they choices with explanation.

I'd say rhyperior's ground set because its good agaisnt most of the current raid bosses and will be great against heatran and a good tank counter against thunder dialga when it comes out.

Only beaten out by garchomp's ground set and groudon, garchomp not being released yet and also being a pseudo legendary will be *EXTREMELY* rare and likely will want to be saved for possible CD, and Groudon's well a legendary that requires RC so the trades off in DPS are more than worth it imo

Here's my thoughts on the ones you mentioned.

Roserade - its a top DPS glass cannon option with both Grass and Poison sets. Though it may faint before Solar Beam hits, and Poison currently has a very limited niche. That said, it's Poison set has incredibly good neutral damage as well. I'd opt for Poison.

Weavile - again, both movesets are good, placing Weavile as a top-pick glass cannon. My guess is that we'll see Mamoswine long before Darkrai, so Weavile's Ice set will likely be outclassed sooner. But even then, both movesets are good choices.

Rhyperior - since one of your posts indicated that you're lacking a SD T-tar, I would opt for the Rock moveset here. If we get Heatran or Dialga as our next raid boss though, you may want to TM to the Ground movesets, if you don't already have a Groudon.

Honchkrow - Dark set, all the way. In truth, Honchkrow is a mid-tier Dark/Flying contender, but at least its Dark set is decent. Sadly, its Flying set is pretty terrible.

I like and respect you playstyle, i cant do that because i have to carry my team mates, mostly just started when the regis become a raid boss, and with a small member that usually only 3-6 trainer can join in a legendary raid.
So i have full squad of Battle ready Machamp, Rock and dark TTar,Golem, Gengar, shadow Ball Mewtwo, Kyogre and Gyarados, and combo of Ray and Dragonite.
My team mates are getting strong now, so i will attempt to use 6 unique counter in T5 raid. Not really a fans of a time attack style raid anyway, a win is a win for me.
As for your question, the one that have the best answer is yourself, you already know what hole to fill in your squad.
And in worse case scenario, you can TM it later to strengthening you counter by type.

Thanks to all who voted and explained there choices. Now i know which movesets will be better suited for each pokemon and my needs. Now i need to wait a few days longer to get a second stone and add another one to my team and probably think on which mon use stone (knowing which moveset i will choose help me decide which pokemon proritized to evolve first). Thanks ;)
