New raid bosses. Which do you think might be replaced/added?

I suspect the gen 1 starters will be leaving T1s and being replaced with gen 3 starters 2nd evolution forms. T2 Marowak, Sandslash and Magneton might be going, and they might be replaced with Tropius, Camerupt and Breloom. T3s would probably lose Ninetales, Omastar Scyther, and Porygon and gain Altaria, Walrein, Metang, and Espeon. T4s might gain Salamence and Metagross if T3 does not get Metang, and lose the Nidos.

Well, the official event announcement said, "you might see some different Pokémon in Raid Battles at your nearby Gym, and from hatched Eggs." So it would be odd for them to wait three months after announcing that.

I'd guess that there will be a few adds, and maybe a drop or two. Would love to see Bagon and Beldum as T1 or T2 raids, but doubt we'll get that.

Actually, Niantic said in their announcement this morning that "you might see some different Pokemon in raid battles at your nearby gym." This strongly suggests that new raid bosses are coming tomorrow alongside Rayquaza.

I don't think they will provide Salamence and Metagross immediately. First we will be supposed to collect candy from very rare wild spawns, which will take us half an year to evolve them. Then Niantic will release them as Raid bosses.

I totally agree with you but on the other hand if they were to include Metang/Metagross that would actually make me want to spend raid passes on, outside of T5 raids

There is no such logic anymore. It only applied to Gen I: 1) Make an effort yourself. 2) We'll make sure you get it (events). 3) If you missed events, you can now get them in Raids.

Since December, Gen III: 1) Make an effort but no worries there will be so many you'll fully evolve them in a week. 2) If not, well here is already Absol and Aggron and Groudon. 3) Oh let's swap those regionals already after 2 weeks. 4) Let's add dragons, also in Raids so you don't have to care about making any effort. 5) Let's also do a dragon community day you can beat all new dragons in gyms with good old Dragonite. 6) Sorry we do not have an actual gameplay plan...

Maybe salamance, only being a raid boss could justify that terrible moveset. Double fire moves to cover ice weakness.

I definitely see Tropius becoming a low-tier raid boss

He'd probably be a bit too easy to defeat. I mean I could just set my Cloyster and Dragonite against him and he'd be dead. Maybe as T3 he could put up some fight. But either way, I'd want Tropius in my collection.

I just want more soloable raids. Nobody around my area plays :(

Me too, I like the solo stuff, though I don't know if I'm ready to solo Machamp yet. Will try whenever he pops up, if they still leave him in.

I would love to solo a T3 Houndoom (or Ampharos).

Yeah Houndoom would be cool. Though probably quite fragile.

I kind of expect things like starters from gen 2 (fully evolved) or gen 3 (middle stage). Possibly Dragonite, Amphoros, Piloswine, Houndoom, and Gyarados. I wouldn't be surprised to see omastar and scyther switched out for Kabutops and Pinsir. Maybe replace Porygon with something. I can see adding Espeon and Umbreon as well.

Gen 2 fully evolved will likely be T4s. G3 middle stages would probably fit as T1s. Others as T3 would be nice but Dragonite and Ampharos would likely end up T4s too. Kabutops and Pinsir I can see them as T3, same with Espeon, but Umbreon... either they put it as T2 or no one can solo it. Or at least that's what people say about it.
