New gym system: Extremely disadvantageous for urban players?

As you can't get ONE SINGLE pokecoin unless the pokemon is able to stay in the gym for at least an hour, that feature is quite a bummer to urban players who lived in a place with numerous gyms with high-turnover rates- back in the days, level 3 gyms can be beaten entirely within a minute, yet you can at least get a guaranteed 10 coins per day, and now we don't even know if we can get ONE SINGLE COIN a day, unless you are lucky enough to stay at a gym for a long period of time to keep feeding the mons with berries.

I am not being a hateboy here, but now it is basically equivalent to not having any gyms around us, they are useless, unless they become raids for a certain of time.

The only solution I can think of to deal with this is to go to (spoofer) gyms in rural areas more frequently. So now urban players go to rural areas for gyms, and rural players go to cities for pokemon and items. Wow good job Niantic, you make (or force) us travel more in this way.

With current system, i would hunt for gyms before going to bed and wish all trainers sleep early...?

Disadvantageous to urban players for coins, and to rural players for raids. They managed to find a new way to disadvantage everyone.

Also to rurals because of the lack of berries to feed, when a mon drops almost 300 CP as soon as you place it and around 30CP/minute it is almost impossible to keep it motivated unless you have a ton of items...

In terms of coin collecting, I think pretty much everyone is worse off. Living in a small city, one of the few advantages I had was it was pretty easy to collect 80-100 coins per day. It's still early for the new system, but I think I'll be lucky to get half of that on a given day.

I got a total of 9 coins today with another 4 in gyms totaling about 22 hours. I imagine by the time I wake up tomorrow, most of those will be gone and I'll have to start from scratch again.

Until now, it works fine for me. In our small town, I tend to be one of the last active players at night, and this is rewarding. :-)

Don't say Niantic never did anything for the rurals!

Stay away from our rural gyms! I hope if you spoof you get busted!

And we will kick you city slickers right back where you came from, LOL.

P.S. Of course, I will have a lot of fun with the city gym near my workplace ;)

I'm not sure where people get the idea that it's easier to hold gyms in rural areas. Where I live, there are few enough gyms and enough of a team imbalance that the dedicated players are able to hit every single gym in the area every day, making it impossible for my team to hold any any of them for a decent length of time.

At least in the cities, there are enough gyms that there's no way a few players can sweep through the entire town like that, so it's always going to be a mix of all three colors, instead of the constant sea of red here. I was actually thinking I should have driven into the city today instead of trying to hit local gyms when they reopened. Seems like the only way I'm going to be able to collect a decent number of coins around here is to hit gyms at midnight to try to hold them overnight.

Agree. It is ten times more difficult to get the coins you were used to under this ridiculous one coin per defending hour mechanism...

the only people who have been advantaged are spoofer. 20 minutes to beet down a level 2 gym get my snorlax back 2 minutes later (while standing next to it) to have 2 spoofers drop straight back in. another 20 minutes to beat them down lets see how long he lasts.

if it comes back before earning something i am going to say fuck this to this game

minority teams are hit hard to. At least before you could travel to an area were your colour might be dominant and you might stay in for a bit.
now it is not worth it due to the feeding mechanism. which means you are forced to stay local.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a 'rural area' in Singapore. 99% of the players here are complaining, they can't even get a single coin.
My idea would be to assign every area to a single team. Those players whose area is not 'assigned' to their team may have to go to other places nearby that are 'assigned' to their team to get their coins.
