New announcement says Sky Attack is improving...
Possibility they are telegraphing the news to us that wholesale move changes arriving? Have you delayed changing something that you now might consider switching today/tomorrow for fear of it becoming legacy? Going back through things I have that might be near perfect IVs but imperfect moves

I had the same thought when interpreting their post as well. My guess is that Lugia is returning with Aeroblast or Psycho Boost and made an error, or moves are going to be rebalanced/added entirely. I have a hard time believing that Niantic is just going to buff an existing move for Lugia and leave everything else unchanged, but it's very possible. We'll find out tomorrow!

Here it says "This Lugia will know a newly powered-up version of the Flying-type move Sky Attack." It uses the word "version" so I guess there will be two versions of Sky Attack, kind of like Hydro Pump and Hydro Pump (Blastoise). It's unlikely a move rebalance.
Interesting, perhaps they should have Sky Attack and SKY ATTACK! j/k. I only tried to change my best Golem (a newly evolved boosted one) from Rock Blast to Stone Edge...used 2 TMs and quit. Thinking if they bring back Lugia, I bet Moltres and Zapdos will be back, too.
Biggest suspense for tomorrow will be what tier 3s and 4s will be offered. Some people/areas can't handle Lugia--I have a Lugia at 3177 and another one at 3122; so I might just do a few Lugias because it is quite a challenge.
I suspect they'll just buff Sky Attack. The list of mons that learn the move is entirely underwhelming. Outside is Lugia, the list is headlined by Fearow, Noctowl, and Skarmory. Though, I would welcome a move rebalance. There are many moves that could really use it (Psychic, Fire Blast, Water Pulse, etc)
