I've never encountered a nest so I'm confused. I went to my spot this morning where there is usually slowpokes, psyduck, magikarp, 1-2 dratini, scythers, and sometimes a snorlax. Today it was all tentacool. I googled and read they changed nest locations.

Do nests replace all Pokemon in the area or just add to it?? It was literally 90 percent tentacool. Unfortunately that's the only spot near me since they took the spawns away from the other lake.

I'd like to know if it was bad luck or what, it's quite a long drive.

Nests changes every 20 days if I'm not wrong, or something like that.

And yes, it replaces all the mons, not actually 'adding'.

It could just be random spawning - there's a lot of tentacools around here at the moment.

Whether your previous catch was a nest or random spawns is difficult to say. I'm seeing less Magikarps locally but more Staryu and Poliwags. Give it a couple of weeks and it will change again... It's worth trying new locations - round here some regular spawn sites have moved a hundred yards or so.

Nests/spawns change every 2 weeks now. Most spawn areas are random but every now and then they will toss out the same pokemon at certain times. Not always but some do.

The next next/spawn change should happen on December 1 if the pattern stays the same.

There are some locations that will always spawn 1 specific pokemon at the same time(s) everyday. Sounds like the location you have found are now Tentacools and that should stay that way until December 1.

I think they just changed the nests. My local Pikachu nest is gone and there is a Ponyta one that just appeared.
