Need assistance with my Dragonite

Hello everyone.

I were just wondering if i should just go ahead and power up my Dragonite. My trainer level is 31.

Dragonite has CP of 2026, 91% IV
Atk IV 15/15
Dev IV 13/15
Sta IV 13/15

But the problem i am thinking about is it's bad moveset.? which are: Steel Wing / Hyper Beam so i am unsure what to do. I have 29 candies at the moment.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just re-roll the moves using TMs.

Even if you're short on charge TMs, one use will get you either Outrage or Hurricane, either of which is very usable.

Due to TM's, the moveset is irrelevant.

The IV is great, the most important stat (Attack) is 15, it's a good Dragonite to power up if you want to power it up. The only reason I would say to not power it up is that the Generalists like Dragons aren't very useful in the Meta. They aren't useless or bad, it's just that they usually don't do enough Damage Per Second to be useful in Raids when compared to Specialists (Pokémon that do Super Effective damage to Raid Bosses), even if the Specialists faint earlier.

But that's a debatable point, and if you want to power up this Dragonite it's a good Dragonite to power up.

In Gen 4, Dragonite will become a specialist to the multiple dragon type raid bosses. There is no rush to power up in the current meta, but it will be of advantage in a few months.

It's a good point. The only reason I hesitate to make it is that we've been expecting Gen 4 to be dropped since the beginning of June and there has been no concrete information on when it will finally drop. It might be the Ultra Unlock and be coming next week. It might be dropped in October, and have Giratina as the first Legendary Raid boss. (Dragon/Ghost, October having Halloween, etc., then follow with the other Creation Trio over November and December).

But yeah, in Gen 4 there will be a lot of use for Dragonite.

Specially because it seems to be his only dragonite/dragon.

October sounds about right for gen 4. I would like your Halloween idea to become true.

Dragonite is the premier non-legendary counter to many dragon type raid bosses. This point may be getting a little ahead of ourselves though since there aren't any confirmed dragon type bosses on the horizon.

While the days of needing an army of Dragonite are likely behind us I'd argue most trainers should have at least one or two at their disposal.

Depends on whether Rayquaza returns before or after the release of Togekiss, Mamoswine and Garchomp.

Depends on moves as well. If favorable then yeah, Garchomp and Mamoswine are superior, Mamoswine particularly against Rayquaza. Against the Latis, only Garchomp is superior.

With an assumed fairy type fast move with the same specs as Shadow Claw, Togekiss doesn't come close to any of the above in the DPS department. It does make a fantastic tank though with higher TDO than Blissey and higher DPS than Gardevoir. That's hopeful thinking on my end, I don't have faith that Fairy Wind will be a Shadow Claw clone if introduced.

The iv is great so it's worth powering up. You will need to TM its moves though as the current moveset it poor. Dragon tail + Outrage is what you'll want.

IVs are great and moves can be changed through TMs, but the era of the non-legendary dragon generalist is almost over.

Hurricane Dragonite is a good filler to your Machamp raid team. Given your level I assume you are starting soloing Tier 3 raids. I would say so just TM it and see what you will get. Won't hurt.
