My Pokemon indicator doesn't show any footsteps!!!!

I assume you haven't played in a month or so? That feature was removed in patch 0.31.0 on July 30. Apparently it was murdering their servers...

Factory reset fixes this..

The pawprint feature was broken, so it's been removed and replaced with sightings while they work on a new tracking system. The new tracking system is in beta testing in SanFran (and maybe other similar places but at least there for sure AFAIK) at the moment. It currently relies on PokeStops so hopefully they'll tweak it even more so it works for people and places where there aren't tons of PokeStops.
