Munchlax for great league?

Anyone used one there yet? It's got the body slam thats spamable, and bulldoze to deal with steel, rock and ghost types. I dont know how well do tackle or lick do in pvp, but is munchlax good there?

He's an excellent damage soak with a great weakness profile for Great. Not many fighting threats that low (Lucario is the only one who springs to mind.)

And bulldoze can deal with Lucario. Thanks for letting me know. Definitely going to look into using it, favorite baby pokemon, it will be great getting that reduced second move cost on it too

The great league can also include the Hitmons and Toxicroak. I don’t know how a higher level Munchlax would fare against any of these at around level 20, but it’s giving me pause before sinking dust into one.

The top fighting types in great league are Hitmontop and Medicham, but Azumarill and Altaria being so common means the meta isn't exactly friendly to fighting types. Medicham is great for its ability to punish Altaria with Ice Punch though.

I think Snorlax has better TDO and is cheaper if you have a BS lax from research. The only advantage is the lower cost of the second move. It's still cheaper to buy a second move for munchlax and power it to 27.5-28 than just buy a second move to Snorlax.

The snorlax would need to be about level 16, while the munchlax could be level 27. The difference between CP multipliers of those levels is very close to .3. Snorlaxes stats * .7 gives a critter with slightly lower attack than munchlax, very slightly higher defense, and much less stamina. So, I think the munchlax will have higher TDO in the Great League.

According to DPS/TDO, Munchlax has the 12th highest neutral TDO of any available pokemon in great league (and highest of all normal types), so yes it should be pretty good. Lick has good energy gain and BS charges fast, so it would spam really fast (I've tried L/BS Snorlax and it does spam fast) and its only weak to fighting, which is nice. Cheap charge move and Bulldoze help with most pokemon that resist normal, but Skarmory is a nightmare matchup as it resists all of the charge moves.
