Movesets vs IV

Sorry, I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but I'm still new to the game.

A) A pokemon has 85% IV with Attack being his main attribute, but his/her moveset is "D" rank.

B) A pokemon has 45% IV, but he has the perfect moveset "A" and has high CP.

Which option is better?

I have heard perfect Movsets are more important then IVs.

Yeah movesets make a much bigger difference. IV is only ever a 5-10% difference on average but the best moveset vs worst could be 100% or more damage difference.

The 45% would be better most likely. UNLESS we are talking Blissey. Some Pokemon movesets are so good across the board that A vs D is a small difference (such as Blissey)

Species > Movesett > Level > IVs

Now since you can power up mon level is flexible.

On a final evolution movesett is most important. But since you can always catch and evolve more you could get a higher IV with same moves which is why people are reluctant to invest in low IVs when that Mon has lower stats.

Movesets all day every day

IV's are only critical for defenders, because they determine how high their CP can go, and how high they can be placed in gyms. An attacker does not need stellar IV's, and for both attackers and defenders, move set is important.

Welcome, you found a great site and helpful community and please don't hesitate to ask your questions!

Agree with pp, generally movesets matter more, with the exception of high CP gym defenders.

But some mons I have kept just because I like them, despite poor IV's and moves.

Keep in mind that pogo is a Major grinding game so if you intend to play long term you should be patient with your stardust because there is a good chance you will eventually evolve a high IV with a good moveset

I would say moveset then reresource then Iv
For example if you have night cp lower IV Monster , you can directly evolve it and use it specially if the candy or stardust is rare or not accessible in the near future
