Firstly are you sure its an error?

Dps is not everything.

When deciding whats 'better' they will be taking lots of things into account.

Such as typing...is it overall going to be effective or neutral to more pokemon, also influenced by the Current meta.

Energy gain/cost

Time it takes for the move to cast

Etc etc

The "True DPS" calculations are wrong on a lot of pokemon pages.
