Most Gyarados Battles Won & Moveset

It's clear from the pokmeon show off thread that everyone loves gyarados. How many gym defending 'battles won' do you have with your gyarados and what is his/her moveset?

Is there a way to tell battles won for a specific mon?

The only way I know is to stick your gyarados back in a gym and see. I wish there was an easier way, and I hope there is/will be, it's clearly a stat that's measured in the code.

I'll try to find out tomorrow then. TBH I rarely place mine now.

thanks! gyarados is and will always be my favorite mon. he was ridiculously overpowered in Red/Blue. I would always buy the magikarp before mount moon so I would have a gyarados to rock Misty and every other gym trainer in Johto
sidebar lol

I don't know that it's a matter of loving Gyarados so much as that they are relatively easy to acquire in some areas, and they have a high CP. I have six Gyary's in my top 12, and eight total, but I also have ten Vaporeons, eight Wigglytuffs, seven Piloswines, ten Scythers, etc.

The others just don't have as high a CP as Gyarados, so they are not as apparent in my top-12 screenshot.

As for battles won, I don't think I have any battles won with any of my pokemon, and I've collected coins on 10 gyms every day (except one) in 2017.

For sure lol. I know it's rare to have a win, that's why I'm asking the internets.

I don't think it's as bad of a defender as it used to be. The new movesets hit pretty hard, and its main weakness is electrics, which are fragile and not ideal against other defenders. If an attacker has to put in two jolteons out of six attackers in his lineup, in order to deal with 2-4 defending Gyaradoses, that only leaves four slots for other attackers to deal with the remaining Vapes, Dragonites, Snorlaxes, Blisseys, etc.

And if one of the Jolteons gets hit by a sneaky hydro pump, or even an outrage or a couple of crunches, even just getting through the Gyaradoses might not be that straightforward.

This is all true. The variety of movesets makes it kind of a pain to sort through the 2-3 in the middle of most lv10gyms I take down. I would also note that bite is my least favorite charge move of his to face. It's fast and hits hard into a Jolt, and he's never getting to HP.

To combat this I've maxed out a Jolt. He's good for two at least. Whatever is left the Dragons can pick up but of course now there's the risk of Dragon moves

Crunch not bite I guess :);
Since I started to use discharge Jolt I can take 3 2.9k ones or 2 3k with dt in most cases.
I don't dodge, load all 3 discharges and kill. If Crounch then I'm killed usually in first fight :). After that I pay attention and dodge. Even DP does not fire before 3 discharges in most cases.

Using my B/HP ones as attackers till the wheels fall off. It's powerful enough to defeat a Blissey by itself something not alot of Pokemon can claim.

have 3 in gyms, and never won a battle. But none of them has DT
Gyarados with DT/C should have it way easier to get battles won.
