More idle speculation on the next Legendary.

Kyogre leaves us (for the third time) on June 21. Go fest in Chicago is on July 14th. My guess is that we'll get a new legendary raid boss for the GO fest (I'm looking squarely at you, Regis). So how will they fill the time between June 22 and July 13? We know they covered the beginning of June with Kyogre, so do you think they will re-release Groudon and Rayquaza? The weather trio make for a natural set to fill in that gap, as well as letting them out when the weather is nice in the Northern hemisphere (no disrespect to our friends south of the equator, but up here we got shots at the best pokemon during the worst weather).

Or will they leave Kyogre tied to the water festival, and do something else altogether? If they go Groudon and then Rayquaza, frankly, the Regis would be a let down afterwards.

Personally, I had crap luck with Groudon IVs, and would love another shot at the big red goofball (as well the pale green shiny version) to try and get something over 90%. And everyone needs more Rayquaza, right?

Or will the beasts do a one a week in different regions farewell tour? Again, personally that would be good as I have zero Raikou. Any thoughts?

I will make the obvious guess that beasts will follow Articuno as Research breakthrough.

Kyogre is associated with a water event. So unless there is some ground event, I don't think we will see Groudon.

Maybe they will release Suicune again during the second half of the Water event?

Aaack, that would totally kill legendary raids, unless they buff it up quite a bit. Right now, Suicune is weaker than Vaporeon, who has fallen behind Milotic, Gyarados, and Kyogre for best water.

But a buffed Suicune, that would be something worth raiding for. Give it Waterfall and Hydro-Cannon, or something equivalent, and it will rock. Or give it a really fast Surf. Hard to make it worse.

I can't remember about Waterfall but Hydro Cannon would go against their rules of keeping move distribution equivalent to the main series. Since Suicune can't learn Hydro Cannon in the main series means we'd never see it with HC in PoGo.

At most they'd drop in its shiny version, which may not even entice players outside hardcore collectors anyway.

The beasts as field research breakthroughs makes sense. Do you think they will include Mewtwo as well, because then Mewtwo would come between the birds and the beasts. Or they could do Lugia (who kind of watches over the birds) and then the beasts, and then Ho-Oh. Or will Mewtwo be a special research reward, put out there for the hordes of players who can't get EX passes?

As long as we're making obvious research predictions, I predict that a new Special Research set of quests for Celebi will come out sometime around GO fest and the game's anniversary. That seems to be even more of a foregone conclusion than that the beasts are coming.

I feel like they’ll throw in a legendary week. Maybe with RayQ and Groudon like the last one.

3 months of Raikou pls

3 months of the same would be incredibly boring, even if it's one of the strongest legendaries in the game. I would welcome the excuse to max more Rhydons though.
