Mons organization

There should be another way to organize pokemons.

I prestiged 3 gyms today. It was tough... while I lost another recently.

When I am going to select my attackers (not to mention I have to do it eeeeverytime) I do not know for certain their attacks. I do not have much but I am getting more. For example I have 4 Kingler. How am I supossed to know what attacks do they have? Someone can say (write on their name) but no, sorry I use the name for writing the IV and A D S stats. There could be a mini-icon or something at least showing the colors of both attacks or a group by so we can store for effectiveness (for example my Krabbys against Rock, or my Krabbys against another thing..)

Idk how hard is to make people sort pokemons better or see skills before going into battle or before putting them into gyms.

The way the game currently is it's best to name the Pokemon with its moves set if you do competitive gym battling. period.

The IV is important, but only to help you choose which poke you are going to spend dust and candy on.

When I catch / hatch I start by appraising it and adding A (best appraisal) B (next one down) C (so on) or D (so forth) I rarely keep anything below a B but sometimes we all keep that rare or even not so rare "D" for whatever reason.

When crunch comes and I want to potentially use a poke for whatever reason, I normally do a IV calc at this stage to help me with my decisions. This I label simply from 0-100 (percentage)

If I am going to use that poke as any type of attacker or defender, I then label it with its moveset for easy selection. (IE - ZH+HB, DT+OR, WG+HP, etc)

This makes gym battling/prestiging selection much quicker for me.

I do agree that a better sorting method with more options and perhaps more comprehensive way of identifying pokemon would be excellent, and hope this is brought into the game in the future, bit until then I save a lot of time naming them myself :)

What I would like is to be able to select the same 6 as last time, or better, create groups of 6 attackers, and then select all 6 with one pull-down box. You could have 6 "Dragon attackers", or anything.

If you prestige daily (I normally do if there is a gym spot), the big waste of time is always selecting...over and over again.

I think having IVs/ADS stats are just not needed and a bigger pain is not knowing the movesets so what I do now is rename and sort by name for all my prestigers,

They are always near the top with my daily use ones (like 1200CP mons 2x Tangelas, Vap, Electabuzz, etc...) as 1200TangWP...

I put their CP in front since that way, I can select the next 5 above the highest CP one to make sure I get max prestige points...

"but no, sorry I use the name for writing the IV and A D S stats."
your choice.
my mons are named using their type followed by their attacks i.e.

Wa WG/HP
Fi FS/Oh
Dr DB/DC
GsPo VW/SB

etc.

sorting by alphabet groups the mons by type.
sorting by cp helps be see the type of mon and the attack easily.
sorting by favorites: will be dynamic and are for quick picking attacking teams. (takes a minute to set up but worth it.

Yes we can fck your own game experience and name our pokemons random garbage things but they can also step up and make the game better.

This is good forward thinking...I wish I had added the typing when I started playing, as would have meant less memorising typing...it's a bit late now tho as it just too much work to rename all now (I have 900/1000 pokes I want to keep right now, almost half of which are already named with IV% and moveset.

Oh well, here's hoping they do add more options for sorting.

I use the names...for a Pokémon like Kingler, what difference do the IVs make?

I use this system...

Regular attackers start with "$". Presitgers start with "@"

Then their attack type. So my 2200cp Venasaur is "$grass" and my 1100cp Venasaur is "@grass"

I don't need to list "Vine Whip/Solar Beam" because I already know these two favorites have those attacks, which is how they earned their status.

Then when it's time to attack, I sort by name, and they're right on top.

When I'm looking at my Pokémon as a whole, I usually sort by # so they are grouped together.

I do something similar but use their CP number after the $ or @ so that it is easy to find mons below a certain CP level. I hate when I get to a gym, it takes me a minute to get my lineup, and the by the time I mm ready, it has been taken over by a different team.

I can't use the favourite option because I favourite all pokemon I want to keep to avoid accidental deletion.

I think additional sorting methods or maybe attacking/defending tags and type sorting would help a lot.

Try writing it in the name. I think it is much more usefull info than A D S stats. You will still have room for IV%. Try it for a couple mons atleast.

You could very easily fit both IV (3 characters) and attacks (4 characters) in the same name. You could also work out a system where you use two characters to list the types for both attacks (I use "initials" - F is fighting, A is fairy, Y is flying, etc) so a Vaporeon would get WW.

Putting the CP as the first past of the name helps to sort by name for prestigers.

Why do you need both the IV percent and the A/D/S stats? (A+D+S)/45 equals the IV percent.

I use the punctuation and symbols like others are saying then, then the ADS, then Moves. It fits for me.

Ex) *131312 C/So on a 84.4% IV Exeggutor with Confusion and Solar Beam.

I have a similar system, but you can shave off 4 characters there by using hexadecimal and delimiting the attacks by a change from lower case to upper case instead of a slash. Then you have room for a number of other things if you want to add something later, such as hp for potion selection, moveset grade, etc.

*131312 c/So
*ddc cSo

I prefer to put moveset first though because I don't always immediatly check ivs and can add them later without deleting the moveset.

Look into apps like CalcyIV for Android (there's a few others for Android and some for Apple). Non-TOS breaking because it just does screen captures of the stats/moves/appraisals. In addition to doing IV calculations, you can also have them auto-generate strings to use for renaming Pokemon based on their type/IVs/moveset/etc. I just tell Calcy IV that I want " $FaMove$/$SpMove$$AttIV$$DefIV$$HPIV$", and after it reads the data it'll copy a string that looks like "Em/FB(15)(15)(15)" to my clipboard for renaming (where "(15)" is a single unicode character with the number 15 in a circle).
