Mewtwo/Alakazam/Gardevoir question

Why is shadow ball considered good on these pokemon, especially mewtwo? Ghost is the most useless gym attacker typing ever because every gym is Blissey Snorlax Chansey Slaking Tyranitar. Maybe not this exact lineup but all of the gyms have at least 3 to 4 of these, especially Blissey.

High DPS is nothing when you are helpless against the clustering of high bulk defenders that are immune to ghost. In fact it would make more sense for them to have a fighting move, especially mewtwo.

Shadow Ball MewTwo is mostly preferred for raids because of the raw power efficiency of SB and general lack of resistance in that arena. You are correct that Focus Blast is better for gym work because of all the fat Normals, but in those cases you're better off just using Machamp. I've kept my MewTwo with SB for raids and those gyms without the usual suspects.

I'd REALLY prefer MewTwo have a great Psychic charged move so that it could be the premier Psychic attacker and do what it was made to do, but it doesn't.

Alakazam should be going with Future Sight and Gardevoir with Dazzling Gleam ahead of Shadow Ball, no doubt.

Pretty sure Psystrike is somewhere in the coding (Although it seems to be much slower than psychic but had 2 bars) and Alakazam and Gardevoir's Shadow Ball are actually are better than their Psychic.

If you already believe SB is better for Gardevoir and Alakazam, then why did you ask the original question in the first place?

Just curious why Shadow Ball is preferred on these pokemon while ghost is actually a bad gym attacking type in this game. I just heard it from anywhere i see but i am personally not sure of the reason.

Shadow Ball is a defensive coverage move for Gardevoir. Alakazam's Shadow Ball doesn't really have any use, not sure why anyone would recommend it when Alakazam has access to Future Sight.

Then why in your ranting post did you call yourself a "real pokemon master" if you dont know basics?

Cut-and-paste from the page on Mewtwo:

Shadow Ball is Mewtwo’s best option for raids and neutral DPS.
Focus Blast is ideal for gyms and all those Blissey and Snorlax.

Ghost is great neutral coverage for only being resisted by Dark and Normal. It also destroys Pokemon like Mewtwo that might be trying to destroy you.
