MewTwo new charge move?

Flamethrower is confirmed at least one of the new MewTwo charge moves. Is there another new charge move also?

Ice Beam and Thunderbolt also being reported as new charge moves.

Also, anecdotal reports are that base capture rate for MewTwo is about the same as typical T5 raid, not the much higher rate of EX Raids. Do any of you know or have experiences yet?

Can't be sure yet, of course. I was 17 for 17 in EX Raids, and 1 for 2 today. Anecdotal, but consistent with the idea that the capture probability has decreased some.

Yeah the three new charged moves are Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Flamethrower. This makes Mewtwo the top Ice-Type attacker until Mamoswine is released. It’s also a very strong Fire and Electric attacker as well.

Overall this is disappointing, I think most players were hoping for Psystrike and a shiny release.

Oh well I guess, now I don’t have to spend much on raid passes.

Confusion and Ice Beam is going to be a winner.

Not sure about the others, although Thunderbolt is a pretty good move, just a dialed down Wild Charge. On Mewtwo, it will wreck some stuff.

Probably more interested in replacing the C/P one I TM'd to Shadow Ball, and getting candy to power the Shadow Ballers up.

This also means that there's no good countermove to SB Mewtwo, so attacking with them is a no-brainer. It seems like there's minimal interaction with Mewtwo's counters. TTar is still solid, double resisting Psychic, and resisting fire, but double weak to Focus Blast, which will now only come up one time in five. Gengar's strength is to double resist normal and triple resist fighting, so 4 times in 5 it's pretty exposed. And Mewtwo isn't weak to anything the raid boss is bringing to the table, so I'm going to lead with those.

Also, it looks like the raid boss is bringing a 60540 CP, according to a pic someone posted to our GroupMe group. That's pretty sick, I wonder if the stats were buffed. If so, all bets are off, and it could be the best Fire, Electric, Ice, Psychic and Fighting attacker.

Ice Beam: Makes Mewtwo the best ice type attacker for a hot minute until Gen 4.

Thunderbolt: 3rd behind Zapdos and Raikou, still better than any current non-legend. May or may not change with Gen 4.

Flamethrower: The Hyper Beam of the new moves. Not terrible by itself, it just brings nothing to the table that isn't handled better by either a) its other moves or b) other fire types.

Curious to see first hand how much harder the raid stat buff makes it. Guess I'll be finding out tonight.

Also Mewtwo raid boss CP is now 60540! Was 49430 before.
Pretty hard to defeat even with a full lobby of 20.

It used to be an "Easy" trio but how about now, with 60540 cp instead of previous 49430?

This may also be a precedent for future Deoxys, to make it no "soloable".

Did Mewtwo get a stat buff or did they just dump more HP into it as a raid boss?

Still the same cp;)
Wondered why it took our lobby of 7 most ultra friends so long vs psychic (126 sec remaining). My party is fully maxed. Used to be a lot faster, in April beat it with 40, 33, 33, 30 vs Shadowball and had 119 sec left.

You also get 5 candies for catching it, instead of 3.

This comes as a surprise to me. I read that the typing of the new attacks match the birds typing. Is that a reference to the lore or the main series games?

There's no lore to it beyond them all being legendary. I think it's just Niantic making a cheeky callback.

What is the move pool for the boss? Does it know the current 5 moves or previous 4? As it makes difference when build up raid team.
