Mewtwo on eBay

I thought this was pretty ridiculous. People are actually bidding on it. Would you sell your mewtwo account for $500+?

If I had created extra accounts that I rarely used apart from raids and one of them had a Mewtwo, then I would perhaps sell it if the price was $500+.

But I only have one account and I've worked hard with that one for over a year now to reach lvl38. There's no way I'd even think about selling that one for $500.
Even if I get bored and stop playing the game I might not sell it. Add another zero to that amount and maybe I'll consider it, but only if I decide to stop playing.

That one does look like a genuine account (unlike the one linked to in the header) but I think $5000 is a tad optimistic...

Lol level 35 is a waste of money, bet that ac has got only 2000 dust to spend

These days (in some areas) one could somewhat easily collect $100 in pokecoins and store them in the bank, might be worth $20 then.

I wouldn't pay anything for an account, even if i decided to play again.

Memories are more important than money. I have memories of my account, i have no memories of a bought account.

i feel nostalgic thinking of the games early days. Mad times.

What? Do people actually pay these prices?

$5000 for my level 40 account, 12 unown, shinies of all available species, all legendaries with 90%+ IV, relevant 100% IVs Pokemon (Entei included), 2 mln dust available, Gen1&2 completed, except for Tauros.

The cure for high prices is high prices. People can ask whatever price they want, but if and when people start actually paying even $50 or $100 for these accounts, botters/spoofers will make them available by the thousands, thus increasing supply to way beyond demand. I think an equilibrium price would be somewhere on the order of $10-20.

depending on level and other goodies in your account you can net up to $1,200 according to completed transactions on eBay...

Somewhere someone bought their own account to try to establish a "value" for it. That or a Chinese billionaire, so they can be level 40 on day 1.

I wouldn't mind paying upto $2000 for this account. I have spent no less than the same amount on buying incubators, passes etc, walked over 4500km, caught 38,000 mons to get myself to L40. And yet, never received an Ex pass, have only one lousy IV shinny karp. No legendaries, except a Lugia, have IV higher than 90%. Seeing others have multiple Mewtwos, a few dozens of shinnies and perfect IV legends prompted me to buy this account and puts my frustration to an end.

Either you are a shill trying to convince people why it would make sense for them to buy an account, or you have way bigger problems than not having a Mewtwo.

Everyone has their own personal economy: what they want, what they're willing and able to pay for it. Don't spend other people's money for them. :)

This is a game with no reward other than an intangible sense of personal achievement. A L40 player paying a large amount of money for a jacked-up spoofer account because they are "frustrated" is like someone being frustrated that they can't solve Rubik's Cube, so they go buy a new one so they can have one that is completed. Or, a golfer who is frustrated because he can't break par paying money for people to sign a scoresheet saying that he shot a 69.

I'm not saying this guy can't spend his money how he wants, I'm just saying that he has some issues if he's willing to pay $2,000 for a spoofer account out of frustration that he doesn't have a Mewtwo and a few shinies.

Do you think you'd enjoy having all those mons even though you personally didn't catch them? I don't think I'd care for perfect IV mons or shinies unless I got it myself, part of the memories of the game.

I wouldn't if I had not tried hard enough and having a decent account myself. I consider this as a trade between accounts. People have been wanting trades between mons anyhow.

And what will you do with this account that you will supposedly buy? Look at the mons in admiration? Go out and battle with it, so that you can use the Mewtwo to clear gyms five seconds faster than you can with your Dragonite?

Again, if you are that frustrated with this game, you have some emotional issues that need to be addressed, but I still think a more plausible explanation is that you are, or want to be, in the business of selling accounts, and you are trying to convince people it makes sense to buy them.

Doing business? I wish I could. Everybody has his/her own needs. After retirement, I walk a few hours daily. Every now and then, I feel lazy going out especially under the summer heat. Pokemon Go gives me some incentive to continue. This account, to be honest, doesn't worth more than $500. But it allows me to build from there and keeps grinding.

p.s. if you still believe I do it for business, please check the question I asked one week and six days ago : "Help Please !!
Lately, I've been experencing a drastic decline in drop rates of pokemons. The same route which I walk daily has only 3 - 4 mons showed up per hour as compared to 30 - 40. Is there any way to fix…"

I must be a damned lousy pro lol !!
