Mewtwo Catch level

I'm curious what level Mewtwo is caught at when beaten in an EX raid. Does it depend on the attacker level? If I'm at level 32, what level would Mewtwo be at for me?

Pretty sure it's just like a normal raid and is at lvl 20

Firstly congrats on your first EX Raid.

Mewtwo is the same as any other raid. Level 20 normally, 25 if weather boosted (windy). Its base catch rate is 6%, making it easier to catch than some T4 bosses (Tyranitar has 5% for reference) and much easier than any other legendary (mostly 2%, a few 3%). Personally, after attending 8 EX raids I can count on one hand the number of people who didn't catch it.

Thanks! I do a lot of looking around, but somehow I've never seen that raid bosses are at lvl 20 or 25 depending on weather boost. I'm a fairly unobservant person, but have no idea how I missed that detail! I do few legendary raids, mostly solos and end up transferring the lvl 3 bosses I catch and only recently noticed that one of the Aerodactyl's I caught was a significantly higher CP than before - haha! Thanks for the answer!

Something else to keep in mind is that Mewtwo has weird timing with its attack animation. When he drops his arm the catch circle doesn't reappear until an awkward amount of time has passed, nearly a full second. Watch a video of someone trying to catch it and you'll see what I mean.

I've done 18 Mewtwo raids and only failed to catch once. The one I missed was wind-boosted and awful IV's, so I wasn't using a Golden Razz.

Yes, it's like any other raid. You catch it at level 20, unless it's weather buffed, which would be windy for Mewtwo, and then you catch it at level 25.

Just caught my third one today (got 3 other EX passes that I couldn't attend). Another one in the low-mid 80% range. It's still a great pokemon.

FWIW, if you can throw great curves consistently on legendary pokemon, you can start off with a few pinap berries. The catch rate for a great curve ball with a golden razzy is a hair over 34%, so better than 1 in 3. I reserved the last 6 balls for golden razzies, and threw pinaps before that (got it on the first ball of ten).

But if you're nervous about catching, or aren't great throwing at legendaries, maybe start with the golden razzy right away. Better to catch with 3 candy than miss it and get none. YMMV.

Thanks! I've been pretty solid with great curveball throws on the legendary birds, so I'll probably do a couple to possibly save some rare candies!
