Mewtwo and alakazam power up?

If you’re in need of psychic attackers, sure. Machamp is currently out of raid rotation so you probably don’t need psychic types right now. The Mewtwo’s stats are solid, but we still have nearly a month of raids where you could get a stronger one.

Mewtwo is the most powerful Psychic type Pokémon in all of the generations. Even a 10/10/10 will outclass all Psychic, so I’m any comparison with Mewtwo and other Psychic Pokémon Mewtwo will always be the best choice.

I maxed a Shadowball 15a/11/15 about 6 months ago. I think it was a good one (even though later I maxed another ShB 15a/14/15). BUT, today I traded a 2219 I caught yesterday for an ice Articuno...they went lucky! Mewtwo went to 2258, disappointingly Articuno I got was just 12/13/13.

I'd strongly consider waiting until they reveal what is next and/or after you catch/trade for all you are going to get. However a little safer to prioritize this one if you are a weekend warrior and don't do daily Mewtwos.

It's always safer to wait to power up a new 'thing' until that thing's run is done. We have three more weeks of Mewtwo, and you could get a better one. Even if you get a wind buffed perfect, you could get a wind buffed perfect with a different moveset that you need more. Wait until you need it to power it up.

That said, any Mewtwo is better than any other psychic pokemon, even with the substandard Psychic move (here's hoping for Psyshock someday).
