Metagross power up question?

For Meteor Mash Metagross is it better to max out 1 or power up anywhere from 3-6 to level 30?

I would just max out one (generalist), and save maxing multiple for if there's a raid boss that it counters with Steel moves.

I did max one out straight away (a lucky one, 89%), and now I'm slowly powering up other 2 (98% IV and a shiny 91%). All the others will patiently wait and get only up to L30. So my idea is 3x L40, then 3x L30 and whatever else I see fit.

Why did I prioritized the lucky one with worse IV? because I'm not swimming in stardust and I want one as a generalist now. The others can simply wait - candy not an issue, of course.

I would max 1 or 2 (did 2 myself, a 96 shiny and 98 regular) to use in gyms and round out raid teams. You won't need a whole team until we get a raid boss it's needed for.

I maxed my 98 right away. Have a couple hundred candy leftover to start to max the 3 Lucky's eventually (96, 91, 89 I think). Will leave the other 2 regular and 2 shiny at their current levels for now (had weather boost, so 32-35 for most, but shiny are lower).

I hope you'll read this before you max something out.

I would never max out a pokemon I don't need right now. You'll just wast dust and candy.

I would power up 3-6 to lv 30 and wait. If you wanna to play in gyms, then power one up to lv 35 and let the others be on lv 30.

If we have a raid boss weak to steel, then I'd power 'em up to reach the last breakpoint.

The difference beetween a lv40 and a lv30 pokemon is only 8,47%. (According to GoHub's article below)

Please, read this article befores power something up:
