Metagame shift

Seems to me that the obvious change, that people aren't talking about a lot here, is this:

Strong mon with double weaknesses are now Attackers (Dragonite, Rhydon, Tyrannitar, Gyarados, Exeggutor).

Eevee evolutions are primarily attackers, because they have only one type of attack, period, and a mon that is 2x strong against it will be very hard to defend against.

Blissey, Snorlax, other strong mons with few weaknesses will be best defenders. Expect Mewtwo, Lugia, Entei, Raikou, Zapdos, and Mew to join this list as they enter the game, as well as Donphan, Alakazam, maybe Espeon, Machamp, and other strong mon with no double weaknesses.

So this means that DT/O Dragonites may give way to DT/H Dragonites as optimal (thank goodness for TMs), etc. DPS and matchups are be more important, especially for raid battles.

Thoughts?

If only magneton didn't have a double weakness ?
It is resistant to 10 types. Double resistant 2 types

In a raid boss battle, the concern is timeout, not getting knocked out...

High DPS is where it's at IMO.

That said, Magneton doesn't have insane Att or typing so wouldn't worry too much about using it or maxing it.

You're better with an army of Eevelutions (Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon).

There is some calculation to be done on how long a mon lasts to better drop charge moves. The list of best raid attackers won't purely be a DPS list but we'll have to wait until we can run some good sims to be sure.

Why would DT/H be optimal over DT/O for Dragonite? As an attacker I still think DT/O is the best (along with DB/DC), but tbh any Dragonite moveset that does not include either steel wing or hyper beam is very good.

DT/o I'd only super effective against dragonite while flying have type advantage against fighting and other ( don't recall )
Plus you gonna see less and less dragonite in the gum now

Cool, maybe when I finally get a charge TM, my Dnite can be used again with any move that isn't Hyperbeam...Dnite has great attack stat after all...

I agree with most of this - due to articuno's and moltres's double weakness to rock, I don't think they will fair well as defenders. Zapdos also doesn't like golem (or even SE rhydon, despite having mudslap)
