Megahorn move typing

Hi! I looked at the list of Pokemon that could learn Megahorn, and found that not one of them benefited from STAB. Seaking, Rhydon, and Nidoking, which are the only 3 Pokemon who learn this move, are not bug type. Because NO Pokemon who can learn this move benefit from STAB, I think Megahorn should either be a ground type move, or a normal type move. It could be ground because 2/3 of the Pokemon who use this move, nidoking and Rhydon, are ground type. If my perfect IV Rhydon with mud slap Megahorn benefited from STAB charge move, that would be quite nice if Megahorn was ground type. I can also picture it as normal type move for some reason.

What do you guys think? I'm interested to hear your opinion, please share it below

If megahorn is given normal typing the mons using it still wouldn't benefit from stab

Megahorn punishes people who are taking advantage of rhydons double weakness against grass. But lets be real, rhydon is also double weak against water, who doesn't use water types over grass type for this job?

Heracross should have this move when it gets added, and that's a bug type Pokemon. It used to be it's signature move.

Pokemon Go follows the same stats as the main series, so Megahorn isn't going to be changed because that's the typing it has in the main games, and changing it wouldn't really fix the problem, because then Heracross gets fucked over when it doesn't have STAB on Megahorn.

And who would benefit from a normal type Megahorn?

Instead, make the other two ground moves, Dig and Bulldoze not complete garbage, and give either of them to Rhydon + Nidoking.

Megahorn was added to the main games in Pokemon Gold/Silver (generation 2). It is the signature move of Heracross, a Bug/Fighting pokemon.

Nidoking and Rhydon could both learn Drill Run instead, which is a ground type move that they both can learn in the main games and would be an appropriate move for them. In Pokemon Go, currently no bug type pokemon can use Megahorn and no ground type pokemon can use Drill Run.

I can forsee Niantic being stupid enough to not give Heracross megagorn. The move pool will be something ridiculous like submission, seismic toss bug bite and steal wing.

They didn't give Krabby/Kingler Crabhammer, and they didn't give Goldeen/Seaking Waterfall, so I wouldn't put it past them.
