Max out or keep level 30?
Hello guys. Two questions.
1) I have a Gengar 91.1% Shadow Claw/Sludge Bomb who i powered up untill level 30 (2212 CP). Should i max it out or dont worth it?. 2) My Exeggutor 100% ZH/SoB is now 2604 CP and can take two more power ups (i stopped after the nerf), worth the dust or better to keep him 2604 CP?EDIT: a third question.
3) A Dragonite 2867 CP caught in the wild with low 44.4% IVs worth to max out because of his moveset (Steel Wing/Dragon Pulse)?.Answers
If i had to chose between these two, i would power up Exeggutor. Why not take down 3 or four Vaps? :-) You will use him in nearly every fight, whereas Gengar still has to prove its usability.
Whether you power up over level 30 at all depends on what you want - i think, this is question of own playing strategy, there is no easy "right" or "wrong".
Well because it's not a simple yes-no question, because different people play the game for different reasons. Every player has their own unique situation, with amounts of access to gyms, pokestops and pokemon. There is no one-answer-fits-all.
Some people just want the best Pokemon for gym battling, others want cool Pokemon to put in gyms.
I gave reasons that he might want to power it up, and reasons not to. It is not mine, or anyone elses decision to make on how someone chooses to spend their stardust and/or candy, I am only helping that person make an informed decision.
Telling people to wait for better IV Laprases or Snorlaxes and acting like sub 80% IVs are unusable is not helping anyone.
There's a lot of misleading information on this Q&A board. Especially directed at newer players. From someone who reads every post even the most knowledgeable players are giving very bad advice. Seems like like he/she is just getting frustrated that his very informative answers aren't making a dent in the flood of arrogant comments that mislead new players that come and ask legitimate questions they are told ridiculous answers or even put down by high level players and he/she is taking it out on focke because of previous post(s).
Androgynous has the most knowledgeable posts on here. Just very frustrated it seems like.
...sometimes seems, he has to take time to explain all details (needed or not) cause he does not know, which of them are important and match to the question.
It is quite impressive to read his long texts, everything somehow related to the topic, but not mentioning which points are important and forgetting other important things.
Why shoud i get an explaination about difference of stardust-grinding in city versus rural, when talking about alakazams moveset?
- 3) A Dragonite 2867 CP caught in the wild with low 44.4% IVs worth to max out because of his moveset (Steel Wing/Dragon Pulse)?.
With Steel Wing, it is a defender. Do you really need a bigger defender? I think, this dragonite is just perfect as it is, just put it into a gym, it will sit in one of the upper floors.
If somebody does want to take the gym, he will do so, it does not matter if dragonite has 2800CP or 3200CP.
Gengar = NO
Exeggutor = Yes. The perfect Exegg. And I really like the bastards for def and attack. This is a nice attacker
Dragonite = Yes perfect defensive moveset, and IV is not that important. If You get in the long way a better one, You can switch the dragonite You want to Power up. But You will never know when You got some one. I got always HB :(
I enjoy reading both Andro and Focke's posts. The forum is strong because of the many points of view. Name calling is very unnecessary.
1) No. Very good example of one of the most beloved. I also have one but its 89.9% 2138 cp and no stardust used.
2) Thats huge already and the diminishing returns on powerups past mid 30's and huge cost isnt worth the gain imo. Plus DB Dragonite is better on vapes anyways.
3)Compared to a 82% its gonna be around 100 cp smaller which isnt much. It will be 150 cp less then a mid 90%er tho which still aint much. With high CP mons IV's mean less. I would try to find uses for it as is for now but powering it up wouldnt be dumb.
