Massive waste ?

Iv's are 3 12 11 with 3 being the attack. It's the strongest shiny I got. Im just tempted to get a shiny D-nite. It would help a lot if the cp was high enough to be in my top 12 after evolution but this will get me a 2500cp D-nite so very very far away from my top12. Somewhere between my exeggutors and my flareons :P so not as cool. It goes without saying I won't use any dust on it so it will stay there at 2500cp. I also assume we won't get another chance of catching shiny dratinis but actually I don't even know ??
So worth the 124 candies anyway ? I have over 1k candy but still feel like it's a small waste, not like I will ever use it for anything.
