Mareep

I've had a wild caught Mareep for a while now with IV's of 15/13/13 (91.1%) and level 22 (CP 547). It's been my obvious evolution choice for when I have enough candies. But I recently hatched a Mareep with better IV's of 15/15/12 (93.3%) level 20 (CP 500).

I am now a few candies away from being able to get my very first Ampharos but I don't really know which one to choose from. What do you think?

I'd evolve the hatched CP 500, Ampharos is only good as a prestiger and the other one may be too strong

How is a pokemon too strong? You mean the cp is too high?

Yup, more than half of the CP of the mons that usually sit at the bottom of the gyms in your area. My Ampharos has 1517, would be more usable with 1400 or so.

I disagree, I think ampharos can be used as an attacker. Especially into gyradose. Ampharos is bulkier than jolteon just doesn't hit quite as hard.

Yes, but the hard-hitting glass cannon Jolteon has the advantage that it often finishes a Gyarados before it can fire its charge move, evading Hydro Pump and the dodge bug

Those are so close. I don't know that it makes much of a difference either way. I guess the good thing is that if you don't like the moveset, you have your next candidate.

I'd keep saving candies and go with the 93% one. Don't rush the evolve.

CP500 for me too...I sorta like more maxed stats to begin with than more non-maxed (I like 15/15/11 more than 14/14/13). The distribution would matter too depending on the mon, but just like those 15s.

I also don't like not getting 1000 prestige so anything over 1500CP is very hard to use (Like level 20 Machamps which sit around 1600+).
