Making your moveset for the "big 8"!

Rules:
Moves that haven't been introduced in the current game can be used here.

Vaporeon – only water moves are allowed.

To make sense, like you can't let Rhydon use "Fly", but you can let Rhydon use "Hyper Beam" and/or "Hyper Fang".

1 moveset per 1 Pokémon.

Remember to write your reasons!

My personal list:
Tyrantiar – Rock Smash + Bulldoze (for type coverages)
Dragonite – Iron Tail + Dragon Claw (for decent damage output)
Snorlax – Mud Slap + Body Slam (for forcing attackers dodge a lot)
Rhydon – Mud Slap + Stone Edge (no need a good moveset, double weakness is too obvious)
Gyarados – Air Slash + Aqua Tail (learning a ground move is rediclous)
Blissey – Mud Slap + Future Sight (a good damage output with good type coverages)
Vaporeon – Bubble + Hydro Pump (at least better for now)
Donphan – Mud Slap + Dig (inconvenient typing, at least ensure a good damage output)

Donphan in the "big 8" .. I don't think so. Exeggutor would like a word with you.

Maybe big 8 as in the first 4 tiers of the defensive list?
Blissey, Snorlax, Tyranitar, Dragonite, Rhydon, Gyarados, Vaporeon and Lapras.

I see a big 4 - maybe 5.

Your list makes my head spin. Fun read tho.

Gyarados - Mudslap + Earthquake

(coverage vs electric)
Is this allowed?

Gyarados does learn earthquake, but does not learn mud slap in the main game series, I'd go for bulldoze for defensive coverage, as defensively you will rarely get to earthquake level energy vs a competent electric type attacker.

Tyranitar: A better defensive coverage move, maybe Aerial Ace or Hidden power (Flying and Psychic help with coverage).
Dragonite, Already has coverage in steel wing, I'd love to see Draco Meteor in Pokemon Go, but that was introduced in gen 4 so we'll have to wait for that.
Snorlax, Already has figthing coverage, maybe just add dragonite coverage in an ice type attack (Ice punch or Ice beam).
Rhydon, sadly there are no overlaping weakness for water and grass, but maybe a 2 or 3 bar attack, maybe thunder bolt or thunder punch as coverage against water. The one thing to keep in mind is that this is not it's final evolution, Rhyperior comes in gen 4, so stay tunned for that.
Gyarados could learn eartquaque or bulldoze for coverage against electrics.
Blissey... Please don't buff her she's already good enough.
Vaporeon, could probably use Ice beam for coverage against grass.
Donphan, he needs a double ground type moveset, so mud-slap is a must, maybe Ice shard or seed bomb for coverage.

Note that all of those moves can be learned by the pokemon in the main game series.
