Making two accounts
I keep seeing trash players making two accounts and placing them under their real accounts in gyms( I can tell because their names are like dbag1 and dbag2) has anyone else encountered this? Should I do it too? I'm just trying to survive as a lonely instinct player and trying to keep up

I sometimes sit in the car and have my wife's phone with me too, so i can put us both into a gym. Is this illegal?
Would it be legal if i did the same as above and she was present but sleeping?
Would it be legal, if we both are present, her phone's battery is too low, and i pass my telephone over to her, so she can log in and put a pokemon?
Of course, you can report somebody with a double account. Of course, niantic does not need your help to find out, that two players with similar names show activity at the same place and could do something, if they care.
You have a physical present player here. You can report him, but you could try to find and report a real spoofer too.
"I sometimes sit in the car and have my wife's phone with me too, so i can put us both into a gym. Is this illegal?"
It's against the TOS.
"Would it be legal if i did the same as above and she was present but sleeping?"
Still against the TOS.

Also against the TOS, but if you put the pokemon yourself with her device it's not against the TOS.
EDIT: Oops... I didn't read it correctly. It is NOT against the TOS if she puts her pokemon herself with your device.
It's against the TOS one person owning more than one account.
Giving access to your account to another person is also against the TOS.
Think of it as your ID card. Other people can't use it to take a test for you for example. And one person can't own more than one identity.
It's hard to prove both situations, tho. But I've heard of Niantic banning people running multiple accounts on the same device.
Probably logging in and out or he has two devices. Let me as you this. What if he has multiple phones? One phone, once account? What if the other one is for his SO? Twin perhaps? Don't get me wrong. It's really annoying but we can't really prove otherwise. Unless they're using the very same phone for multiple accounts. Err. What if my battery died and there was a Tyranitar in the middle if the park. I saw a friend of mine and asked him if I can borrow his phone because I will just catch a Pokémon. Is it still against the TOS?

"No cheating.
Don’t do it. Play fair. Pokémon GO is meant to be played on a mobile device and get you outside to explore your world! Methods of cheating, unfortunately, are limited only by cheaters’ imaginations, but include at a minimum the following: using modified or unofficial software; playing with multiple accounts (one account per player, please); sharing accounts; using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location; or selling/trading accounts."
You can report cheaters here:

It gives no assurance whatsoever that the corresponding player will get a ban. I've reported a cheater with 8 accounts (all the same name, except one difference in numbers) and yet he has been dominating the gym scene for quite a while now.
100% cheating as I have never seen him around while he was prestiging and filling his gym. Don't know what else Niantic wants to see. I've provided them screenshots + videos.
I get shaved off all the time. They are worst than rival teams since I never see these gyms fall, but have seen multiple mons shaved off the bottom.
The only thing you can do is hope they are bad players (power up crap like the guys in my area) and out level them...
I think after 1 more level, I should be above all their mons generally so level ASAP is my advice.
I've said it before and here it is again, at the upper levels, leveling is even MORE important since 1 or 2 levels is 50-100CP which can mean the difference between top or bottom of gyms.
This gym shaving never seemed to be a big problem until recently here. Maybe the last month or so.
Gyms used to sit for a while but now the bottom mon keeps getting shaved off.
Sometimes the other teams are dumb though and they will knock a level 10 gym down to 8 and then leave. Well that just got the bottom weaker guys off. To make room for the stronger trainers to put better mons in at the top.
I really don't know why enemy players will knock a level 10 gym down a few notches and then leave. It will only make the gym tougher to take later.
Either take the level 10 down completely or just leave it be. How dumb can people be?
Yeah, for me, the shaving seems like a bigger issue recently as well.
I think it's because gyms are stagnating again more and for me, potion drops have been even more rare (RNG I hear), so people don't have potions/revives and of course, time to bother with attacking your gym.
If anything, I think it's lower level players attacking since they aren't in many gyms to begin with or the very minority team (Instinct for me here) who has too many potions (nothing to prestige) and top CP mons (like 3000+ Snorlax/Blissey) to use.

We have this a lot here in this town with mostly stable level 10 gyms, the "Joggers" as I call them because many are actually joggers. They don't intend to take the gym but just do Pokemon fighting for entertainment, enter a gym, switch off the GPS and beat up some mons while walking on. I doubt many are aware what a nuisance they are for beginners and other serious players with a low level who get constantly kicked out of the gyms
As a "lower" level player (L29), When I see a gym has been the same color for more than a week, I sometimes will beat a higher level gym down a bit until I run out of potions or time. I mostly solo on my lunch breaks. The hope is that someone else will come by and finish the job before the current team shows back and powers it back up.
I disagree. From what I've seen, when a bottom 'mon or two gets knocked out of a gym the replacements are invariably higher CP, since they don't want the same thing happening to them.
Which leads up to a gym being filled with Rhydon, Gyrados, and Dragonite. Even a mediocre player like myself can blast through that with a handful of potions.
Not all true. Some higher level players like to start over at the end of their game. And just because you use a map / tracker, doesn't make you a cheater -- in game sucked early on, and it sucks now. You have the same access everyone else does. They may not be a purist, but cheater, stop it. Spoofers are cheaters. Period.
Hanke said something along the lines of, it's not people's fault for using these things or spoofing if they have access to them then that's the problem, in that Brazilian interview.
Third party trackers uses bots to track pokemon. Which are a bunch of extra data loading the servers.
After a player stops using a bot account from the tracker, the tracker owner also sell these accounts for real money.
Tracker users are just a bunch of zombie devices running bots for tracker owners for free, so they can make money selling accounts and also from ads and captchas.
By using a tracker, you are not only taking advantage of multiple accounts, but is also financing bot creators to keep it's development.
Tracking IS cheating. Probably even worse than spoofing if you consider these indirect factors. After all, if one player spoofs, it's one cheater, but if one player uses third party trackers, it's several bots and illegal accounts being created and more financial incentive going for bot creators.
I hear you, everyone is entitled to their views. I'll say this tho, one spoofer, one account? You're mistaken, I know spoofers that have TEN active accounts. That's a problem, not what one does to make money -- I don't pocket watch.
Life is to be lived, paperwork is to be read; find balance, and enjoy it. But hey, keep spreading Niantic's good word. ?

I don't see why it is a problem to have multiple accounts. As a matter of fact its ingenuous. I have 4 accounts. My daughter, son, wife, and myself all have our own account. I manage them all from my device. They have their own devices too but i work as a delivery driver and play alot more then they do. Our current levels are 36, 32, 29, and 21. In my region 36 is the highest i've seen. Each account has specific uses. For example the level 21 account works best for prestiging gyms. Their smaller pokemon are ideal to use against our larger ones. The level 36 and 32 are used to take gyms down. In my town there are 18 gyms and my family keeps them blue. I even travel to small towns who may have a gym to take them. I have gyms that i kept for months cause there isn't anyone to take them. With multiple accounts i take on our local spoofers cause they can't keep up. I spent three hours one night taking out spoofers pokemon over and over again. Eventually he ran out of revives where as i had 4 accounts worth of shit to beat him down with. I have 4 times more of everything then my competitors. But its not cheating. I have probably spent quadruple amount of time into the game too. If you don't like how someone else plays then find a way to beat them. Thats what a true gamer does. I have learned that in pokemon Go that if you want to hold gyms then you need to take the time to keep everyone else out of it. People aren't going to use their time to take down a lvl 10 gym if they believe it'll be a waste of their time. Revives, potions, are all renewable sources..... time is not.
No matter how much you try to justify, it's still against the TOS that you signed FOUR times when creating the accounts.
You can say that you don't see a problem with it, like many people say that they don't see a problem with spoofing on certain situations or third party tracking, but it's still a form of cheating if you are going against the rules of the game. It's not a opinion, it's a fact.
Keep in mind it may not be what you think.
My name is "Merlok707" because my son came up with that name. I'm now level 36. My son then wanted his own account, so he is "Merlok707jr" and he's level 27. He then signed up his sister, who is level 16 and "MissMerlok707"
And we are very often in the same gyms. There are also several other people like this in my neighborhood, and in some cases I've seen/encountered them and I know it is acually 2 people.
