Make legendaries legendary

While I fully aprove of having the legendaries available to all and not just the ultra hardcore players I do think they should still be something special. Sure you should be able to get more then one so you can try to get better IVs and farm candies, but attacking with lets say 6 Mewtwos just seems a bit off from the concept of a legendary.

I would suggest limiting an attack team to having just one of each legendary. Collect as many as you want, have some with different movesets, but only be able to use 1 (of each type) at the time.

Would be interessted to hear some of your opinions.

No thanks.

The game just has less goals if we do that. Why should someone who grinds out the HUGE amount of dust to max multiple legendaries be not allowed to do so? And why do you care? They'll tear down your gym with trash now a days they'll just do it faster with good mons. Plus they'll give those less fortunate better mons they don't deserve raid bosses with their good crews.

If you want to attack with only one legendary there is exactly nothing stopping you from making them rare and legendary for you. No reason to force others to do that though.

JMO.

I also disagree. I think they should just get rid of the word legendary. It makes people unhappy.

For instance, people only raid legendary raids because they are legendary. Then they get legendary raid fatigue, a real condition affecting pokemon trainers, leaving them with dissatisfaction rather than joy.

Others aren't able to enjoy a legendary army, feeling that the word legendary somehow makes their Moltres Army less enjoyable. They think, if only Tyranitar was legendary, I wouldn't be such dead weight when MewTwo finally shows. I would actually have a team that is helpful in that battle. But I'm just going to use Lugia because he's legendary. Just like I did against Raikou!

But for real, just enjoy the game. Legendary is just a word. Everyone has lots of legendaries if they care to do raids. Legendary pokemon aren't even that helpful for attacking. If you want to make them legendary, you should be asking for better movesets and stats. Other than that, they are just fun trophies.

If they gave us 3 candy and 5k xp for transferring, then I might keep only the ones I like--otherwise I paid a dollar to raid something that I catch less than half the time

True, legendary is just a word, but its not Niantics call to say what is or is not a legendary. The pokemon universe dictates that. To fans of the series Mewtwo will always be a legendary, no matter what Niantic wants to call it. I also dont think they should be capped because they are overpowered, just think it would be truer to the pokemon universe to put some kind of limitation to them. Now almost everyone has more legendaries then any other top tier pokemon which is simply anathema to the pokemon universe.

I agree with you that there should be some sort of restriction, or even better, fiding ways to improve diversity through quests, type buff/nerf events, special raids or alternative gym mechanics. Fortunately legendaries aren't gamebreaking, heck, there's not even a game to break.

Everyone keeps saying that legendaries "break the game". But, honestly, what exactly are they breaking? You can't even put them in gyms to defend, anyway. All we can do with them is attack gyms, walk them as buddies, and fight them as level 5 raid bosses. So, in a sense, they are "special". Plus, I don't buy the whole "six Mewtwo attacking lineup" argument because you don't even need that many Mewtwo to even attack Pokemon in this new gym system. Thanks to the motivation decay factor, no Pokemon that can defend a gym is even close to being a threat, even Pokemon that can cap a CP over 3000. It's so easy to beat gyms now, literally ANY Pokemon can get the job done.

If anything is making legendaries less "legendary", it's the fact that Mewtwo was immensely nerfed to prevent it from being "too powerful". Personally, I just don't see how Mewtwo, with its original stats, would be problematic in this new gym system.

Both the new and old gym system didnt require good pokemon. Before I prestiged with low level crap, now I need a single decent generalist to take down a gym. However we now have raids. Think of 6 Mewtwo vs Gengar or Machamp, not much of a challenge and no fun in building the perfect team.
