Machamp Frustration
Been focusing on raiding for Machamps so I can eventually do well in T-Tar raids. So far, from 7 raids, two fails, one escape, and:
80% 14/11/11 BP/HS
78% 14/10/11 BP/CC
78% 11/14/10 BP/HS
76% 10/14/10 BP/DP
All of them with bullet punch isn't shocking, just a 1/16 chance, but all of them being 80% or less kind of is, given that the range for raid boss catches is 66.7 - 100%, and should be linear with some bunching at the middle.
Once I can solo them reliably (soon), I'll be able to get more. A few hairs from level 34, the bump will help, and I got a level 30 Dragonite in the wild last week (62%, DT/HB). Best Espeon, Psychic Eggy, SB Eggy, 96% D'Nite DT/O, new 62% D'nite, and Gyarados DT/HP should be able to solo Machamp once I bump the Espeon, Eggy, Gyarados, and 96% D'Nite.
Anyway, just frustrated that I have 4 BP in 4 catches, and none with IVs that merit the dust to pump them up to level 30. Law of small numbers, I suppose.

Mad, no. Frustrated, yes. They could be lower, but not by a lot. On average, if you catch 4, best one should be around 92% on average. Well, there's always next time, if I don't have to face DP solo, or someone else shows up.
Actually, in the last one, first 78%, two other trainers showed up as I was about to make my last attack, (first two failed - bad, then really close). We go in, and I swear, one of them led off with Chansey. Not Blissey, Chansey. I didn't really care, though, one blissey throughout the fight would have put me over the top. I'm level 33, they were 27 and 23. Just funny that that's what she chose for her first mon.
Yeah.... that's RNG for you, yesterday I caugh one with Counter/Dynamic Punch, only to find out he had IV's under 82% (I wanted to upgrade one of the ones I already have). I've hatched like 30 (probably more, I don't keep count) machops with IV's under 82% it happens, just keep trying, I'm now the proud owner of 6 level 31+ Machamps with either C/DP, KC/CC or C/CC, all above 82% iv's, ready to smash some tyranitars :) Soon.
Also, I've heard Polywrath is pretty good vs Tyranitar too.
What have you been using to solo it btw ?
I see you listed those pokemon, but are they what you have used ? or plan to use ?
im currently building a team to solo machamp. I got a alakazam, 2 espeon, 2 dragonite, eggy, then prob a gyarados.
Not sure how usefull gyarados is tho, Im planning on powering a 2nd eggy and maybe evolving another espeon.
Latest run focused on good attackers with high CP. (A/D/S)
Espeon 34.5 CP2728 12/14/15 ZH/FS
Eggy 31 CP2439 12/9/4 ES/Psychic
Eggy 34.5 CP2654 15/15/10 ZH/SolarB
D'nite 31 CP2980 12/11/5 DT/HB
D'nite 34.5 CP3280 14/14/15 DT/O
Gyar 34.5 CP2933 11/10/14 DT/HP
That group wins against CC Machamp, and will barely lose to DP. Haven't tested them against HS, previous groups had more Espeon (but not strong) and lost fast - some of them didn't get a charge move off. Would like something to work better than Gyarados, but all my other beef is Vaporeon, Rhydon, Golem. Just evolved a level 30 Haunter with strong IVs, and got Sucker Punch/Focus Blast, great for killing Normal mon, but not so good for Machamp. Was hoping for Hex/Shadow Ball or Hex/Sludge Bomb. OK. Let's grind out another 125 Gastly candies, .... Sigh.
I've caught 9/9 Machamps...all solo, here's the rundown
1. BP/CC 91%
2. C/CC 89%
3. BP/DP 84%
4. BP/CC 82%
5. BP/HS 81%
6. BP/DP 82%
7. C/HS 79%
8. C/DP 79%
9. BP/HS 78%
Before raids, evolved two Machamps....both got BP/HS...TM'd a 95% to C/DP....and caught the 79% C/DP (raid).....So, out of all that crap....two are C/DP. Also, I never pass up a Machamp raid, haha
