I max attackers as well. gotta prepare for PVP and really, how can you hold off the trigger when you have perfect attacking mon???

It's not better to stop at level 30. Ppl do it becuz they want to conserve resources (dust and candy). Beyond level 30, the gain for CP and HP are halved, plus due to attack, defense rounding, leveling up might have no effect, so some ppl feel it's unnecessary.

For defenders, I still like to level up above 30 to gain CP for higher gym placement.

For attackers, I only level up my best mons.

People have limited stardust and a level 39 attacker performs about 10-15% better than a level 30 attacker...

Is it worth all the candy and dust to max it out to be 10-15% faster? If you have unlimited resources, then yes, max it all. Most people rather have say, 2 very high CP dragonites than 1 super super high CP Dragonite to get double coins/dust instead.

Usually, people in the low level 30s don't have unlimited stardust so max defenders 1st to get higher gym spots...

When you have enough defenders, you can work on maxing more things out for fun/save time and still keep all your defenders maxed.

Difference between level 30 and level 39 Pokemon:

+7,5% Stronger Attack
+7,5% Stronger Defense
+7,5% Stronger Stamina

= 24% more damage delt, until it faints.

What do you mean by "performs 10-15% better?"

I am just going to paste this here...

As more and more people get to a higher level, where they gain a lot more stardust between levels this is indeed becoming a viable option for a much greater % of the player base. This is part of the changing 'meta' as a larger portion of the player base reach the higher levels.
The massive difference in catch/hatch quantities it takes to go from one level to another leaves people with more resources such as dust and candies than they do at lower levels.

Of course it costs more to 'train' a mon when at higher levels, but the proportion of dust it takes in comparison to the amount earned between levels is vastly different - so players at higher levels have more resources to use, before they need to concentrate solely on defenders after levelling.

The suggestion to take attackers only to level30 is still valid for players in the lower 30's...where the return on investment is not noticable for attackers, and resources are more scarce.

However, once players get to mid or higher 30s then the resources are available to a player to use on attackers - and the difference is enough to make a noticable performance improvement.

It is not that the advice once given is inaccurate - it is that the advice is valid for specific player levels...and changes as you get to a higher level, based on resources available and the return you get for the investment of those resources.

TL/DR What is good advice for a player at lvl32/34 is different to what constitues good advice for a player at lvl35+.
