Lvl 32 Gengar solo team (no legendaries)
Today is the first day i have been able to solo Gengar Twice! Here is my teams I used
Vs Gengar @ Shadow Ball
Houndoom 2239 Sn/Cru
Rhydon 2759 MS/EQ
Alakazam 2557 Co/FS
Rhydon 2481 MS/EQ
Dragonite 2718 DT/O
Gyrados 2694 B/O
Gengar @ Focus Blast I ran the same team but I put Alakazam first and i swapped out my weaker Rhydon for a 2257 Espeon (she did work!!!)
Overall my tips are to specifically build pokemon you know will counter Gengar (all ground type attacks, etc..) And also to know which pokemon to dodge with and which not, and when not to. with Alakazam and Houndoom and such I had to make sure to dodge every attack, however theres also knowing when to mash out more quick attacks instead of trying to dodge a move that will kill you or doing a super that gets cancelled and getting the dreaded rollback HP.With Rhydon I hardly dodged, and with Gyrados I hardly dodged too because he was crucial in getting the KO (Dragonite I did dodge with however) the first Gengar took me a while to defeat but I finally got it. the 2nd one with Focus Blast was a lot easier, although he would be probably be harder for people over reliant on Tyranitar. So good luck to everyone like me who doesnt have/cant get any legendaries and plays by themselves!!! I grinded my way up from lvl 1 a year ago to this point without help or even without much income, You can do it too!!! (btw i only caught 2 dratinis my entire life XD I got dragonite from A LOT of walking and A LOT of rare candies!!!!)
