Lucky Magnemite

Hi! I got a lucky 96 IV Magnemite but only 47 PC (and "just" 187 Magnemite candy). Is worth spending dust on it, considering it will have a possible top final evolution in gen4? Or should I just wait till get something "better"?

Worth saving but not investing dust atm.

It’s a near perfect that’s lucky. I’d max it. I’m optimistic Magnezone is going to be meta relevant.

I've got a lucky 89 but I'm maxing it anyway. It may be outclassed by some options, but with an Atk stat of 238 it's still going to be pretty useful! Let's just pray for a good moveset

The problem of trusting that it will be relevant is that we don't know the move pool with which it will be released. It can be Charbe Beam, Thunder, Gyro Ball, Flash Cannon... does Metagross sound familiar? It could also just get non-STAB moves to make it even worse. Does Aerodactyl sound familiar?

I would just wait.

I would wait until you can evolve it and then based on the meta at the time, determine if the resulting Magnezone is something you would want to invest in.

Definitely wait. The candy cost to evolve to Magneton will likely drop to 25 from 50 when Magnezone is released. That’ll give you an extra 25 candy towards evolving to Magnezone and powering up if it’s given good moves. It’s a high IV lucky with a lot of potential, but we still don’t know how good Magnezone will be yet

Or they will make it cost an item or 400 candy. You never know what niantic gonna do

Niantic gonna make you trade it to get Magnezone, like in the main games. Therefore your 96% magnemite is no use to you mwahahahahahahahaha.

You don‘t get Manezone via trading, but by leveling up Magneton at a specific place. Also, your comment is really douchy.

Definitely keep it safely and wait. As aaronconlin pointed and he/she is absolutely right, the candy cost for the first evolution will likely drop to 25 candy like they did for Zubat with the introduction of Crobat. Plus, if Magnezone should indeed have great stats (Niantic could nerf it!), the moves will decide if it's a good pokémon and we don't know yet. The stats are not enough to make a good pokémon. Look at Rhydon or Ho-Oh, their stats indicate they should be great pokémon, but due to their moves they are only OK. Or Slaking!
