Got a Lucky Machamp, 13 attack IV, 89%IV overall and around 1800 cp. Worth powering it up? Just want to create my army against Blisseys but all the 15 attack IV doesn't appear.
I have 9 lucky Machamp...none with 15a, so it might not happen for a while. I did take a lucky 13a/14/15 to level 35 during one of the stardust events.
However, last week caught a level 25 100% on a non-Mewtwo day, so that’ll soon join my earlier 15a/14/15 raid catch that is at level 35. Raid them and trade them, but that 89% can be a non-maxed contributor 2590cp Machamps still get a lot done.
Well it is a good Machamp and it will come in cheaply. I would if I didn't have any other good ones.
You never really have enough Machamp but if candies are a problem for you maybe just don't max it. Take it to 35 and then stop.
I have 18 maxed Machamp but many aren't high IVs. Like you, I had to wait a lot of time before I could get some great ones, but I needed an anti-pink squad. I am powering up a few new lucky ones to replace the worst ones I own and then just trade them to my wife for some of her numerous shinies.
I say your Machamp is worth the investment at that dust cost. Candy is your only real concern. Maybe.
Given that it's only a 89%er (and not even 15atk), I would just hold out for a better one unless you're really desperate. It's not terrible, but obviously you could do better.
I've had a bunch of lucky Machamp so far, including two 93%ers with 15a (and an 89%er with 15a that I might cave and power up at some point). The thing is if you just keep trading Machamp and Machop, you'll get plenty of luckies and eventually you'll get the right one.
Wait. Not power it up yet. 13A is not that great for Machamp as an attacker. Try to catch Machop with higher CP and attack stat, so that you can save dust and candies. Mine already had 5 Machamps with CP25-26XX evolved from Machops around CP1000. Of course, it takes some time to capture and screen those Machops. I actually have 8 Machamps with IV at least 95%, but I rather chose to catch those higher CP Machops without powering up my best Machops at this moment. Maybe, once PvP launchs and becomes demanding, I might have reasons to power those best Machops for high-level battling.
For gym attack, IVs aren't that critical. For raids, IVs aren't that critical either, unless you happen to have a group that's right on the line (maybe 1 raid in 1000, changing a few IVs is the difference between winning and losing).
The fact that it's lucky and will cost you half the dust is worth a lot. Powered up, 2 Machamps with attack 13 are better than 1 Machamp with attack 15.
