Looking for an Android phone good for Pokemon Go

I've had my Galaxy S5 since 2014 but it runs Pokemon Go horribly and the battery life isn't great.

Preferably I'd want a phone that runs Pokemon Go without hiccups and a good battery.

After doing some research, the Moto Z Play, OnePlus3T, and Lenovo P2 caught my interest. How does the game run on these devices? Can someone vouch for them?

My Huawei P9 Lite has been awesome for Pogo and bought it specifically because of pogo

I have a Galaxy S 5 with a Gorilla Gadget expanded battery. It about doubles the battery life. It does make the phone thicker though. I have been using the expanded battery since before PoGo.

I don't own any of the mentioned devices so I can't comment on their performance :(

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro 2016 with 5,000 mAh battery. No Gyro sensor so no AR and no Power Saving Mode for PoGO though. :(

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro does have Gyro sensor but only 4,000 mAh battery.

Have you tried buying a new battery for the phone?
I use a Android phone with a Anker external battery pack and my phone is always on 100% when playing pogo even after 8 hours.

Well, I can speak for my One Plus 3T, I have it since 6 months ago and it is truly a beast, runs the game smoothly, don't have many crashes, battery performance is very good (around 5h-5h30 of gameplay without a charge), and the fast charge is also a plus, gets you to around 60% in just 20-30 mins of charge, maybe even less.

About the cons, you need to get brightness on the screen almost to the max if you want to play on the sun (this lows the battery duration of course), it gets hot (don't know how others perform), and another con for me that I have not find a single glass protector that fits its edges and the hole screen smoothly, even the official one can't do that it seems.

A lot of the problems I am getting seems from the PoGo app itself, like the huge battery drain (with each update it gets worse), the overheat (nothing too crazy, but does not happens with any other game or app), and the sightings and dodge bug from time to time (again because of PoGo itself).

For me this phone worths every single cent it costs, I would say its value is almost the double of its price and with its 6gb ram you can have a lot of apps opened at same time while you play and don't even notice it.

There are for sure cheaper options to play the game, but for me overall the One Plus 3T is a 9.5/10 phone, and if its screen was better on direct light I would give it a 10.

I can't say anything about the Moto Z Play, but I did just get the new Moto G5 Plus (4 RAM) last month. So far no problems with the game running, and battery life is much better then my friend's phone or my old phone. Just this Saturday I as playing for 3 hours and still had 40% battery when I quit. Now when I take my battery pack with me during a long Pokémon walk, its more to lend to my friend then use myself.

I use the One Plus 3T as well. Insane phone with great battery and fully charged in about 1 hour 15 minutes. After 30 minutes it should be at least 60%. Pogo drains the battery about 10-15 percent per hour.
About the performance no complaints as well. As mentioned above it does get a bit hot when playing in the bright sun when it is over 25 degrees, but I guess every phone does. It has a gyroscope so AR and battery saving mode is possible to use. With 6gb of Ram you can multitask with lots of different apps simultaneously.

The only problem is One Plus announced the One Plus 5 and the 3T isn't for sale any more. But with the price/quality ratio I would chose One Plus over any other phone any day. That said, the One Plus 5 will be an even better phone off course.

I already buy and sell a phone 3x in this game...
* CM Flare S4 Lite
* CM Flare XL Plus
* Oppo A37
But the last phone I bought which I'm satisfy is the phone that I currently used.
- Fast loading...
- Friendly Price
- Easy to use...

Vivo Y53... FTW... ;)

Im vouch for OP3T from your list. But if you look for a non removable battery and cheaper one, I vouch for Xiaomi Redmi Prime 4 or other Xiaomi that has good processor. In my country it costs around $130. Or you can find a phone with removable battery such as V10 or V20 (but beware of bootloop problems).

I was advised Xiaomi Redmi Prime, pretty happy with it, except it too started to get hot after the update. They say even top-notch iPhones can't handle that.

Xiaomi in general offers better characteristics for lower price than other brands. But I'm not sure about its longevity.
