A little change that would save a lot of time...

... for a lot of players:
No more purple potions after level 20.

Everyone I know simply deletes them to clear bag-space for items that are actually useful.

I have friends who are perpetually short on balls, and I myself would train/battle gyms far more often if I weren't always short on revives, but we each delete dozens of purple potions every day because they're just that useless at our levels.

No thanks. I use these potions as fast as I get them often.

For those of us who battle a lot, every last potion can get used.

Of course, but to stop receiving purple potions would mean the rates of other items would increase, including yellow/pink/blue potions and revives, which are far more useful to those of us who battle a lot (or who WOULD battle a lot if it weren't for a dearth of revives).

Are you aware that you can tap the icon with the arrows and switch to another mon before it faints?

I AM aware of that, and I don't use that many revives when battling enemy gyms, but training friendly gyms is more costly due to using much lower CP Pokémon and the frequency of spotty phone service which can cause missed dodges, Pokémon fainting before they can be switched out, etc.

Depends how you play and what you're doing. If I catch a lot of mons I drop Revives and small Potions, when I do a lot of gym battling I drop red Pokeballs and Revives.

I wonder if item drop-rates from Pokéstops are alike everywhere or if they vary from one region to another, the way spawns do.

In my town, purple potions tie with Pokéballs for most dropped item. Nearly every spin drops at least one, and one spin in every dozen or so will drop nothing but 3 or 4 purples. Immensely frustrating when you're nearly out of balls or revives.

That's always the same, Niantic developed a high sophisticated artificial intelligence to make Pokestops always give you what you need least

I used to do the same, but then I started leaving pokemon injured after training. As I get regular potions I use them up to heal my trainers, otherwise I only heal them as I need them.

I personally would like an auto delete feature so I can set an amount for each item and anything over gets deleted. So if set purple potions to 0 anything above 0 it'll delete if set to 10 it'll delete anything above 10. Best solution for every player

That definitely would be a nice feature! Niantic?

But I still stand by my OP. If I have a choice between receiving 4 purples from a stop or 2 yellows, I prefer the yellows.

I'll take what I can get. I need them all. If I don't want the item, I just discard it. For someone who battles a lot, Potions > Balls etc. (Except Revives).

If I have the time, I use mostly purple potions to heal after battle and save the better ones. Opens up more bag space too, so, no big deal for me.
