Level 38
Just hit that magical milestone and celebrated by maxing out 9 of my top pokes so I could watch that power up bar disappear. I didn't want to spend any dust before the rework but I couldn't resist. 81K went poof in 2 minutes. Still, I'm kind of sad I'll never see that CP rise again. At least I still have another 4 in gyms...
For all the 38+ out there, did you rush to max out your top tier or are you still holding out? Does it also feel like a huge driving force of this game is gone? 40 is the ultimate goal but I feel like 38 is almost more so. Outside of total completion, why keep at it for another 8 million or whatever EXP?

I am still 1.5M xp away from 38, but when I get there I will for sure max out my squad without any regrets. I don't know how I will manage the game after that because there is no point to keep grinding for xp. Maybe I would just make something crazy like don't evolve anything until a double xp event, saw people with thousands of pidgey candy and getting more of a million xp during a day of the event, I would probably focus my goals there.
Also I am really hoping that when I get to 38 something else is on the game...At least legendaries and new gym system and close to gen3 release, that would keep me motivated.
Anyway congrats for your achievement, keep setting your small goals because sadly Niantic is not giving anything right now...
I live in deep enemy territory, so, maxing out top attackers was necessary. Most players don't realize this, but the rarest resource in this game is stardust. Once you realize that, your drive from 38 towards 40 will be very progressive.
Most players tend to imagine that goals are gone after 40, and that there isn't much to do. One of the most rewarding aspects that you rarely hear about is liberty at 40. No more counting candies and fodder mon for mass evolve, no more slave to XP. You play it as you like, and you have crystal clear focus on building truly elite mon. It's a real feeling of nirvana.
I max out everything as soon as I get he necessary dust/candy. When I reached 38 dust was the most scarce resource, now I reached 39 a few days ago and have almost a million dust which is kinda useless because I don't have candy to max out all my Blissey and Snorlax. Feels like the game is over when reaching 38
I saved candies like crazy so I wouldn't be in a position to not be able to max them out. I even forwent evolving extra Blisseys, Nites and Tyranitars for this reason.
I guess another goal would be to keep evolving/catching high IV pokes but it just doesn't seem as attractive to me now. I currently have six 10k eggs and am trying to do 9 for the first time. I guess that'll keep me going for a while...

I am very bad at saving up stardust so I only have about $65,000 at the moment. I plan on building to it until I get to 38. . I plan to max out my mons as soon as I have the stardust/Candy's.I have been doing this already. I've been slowed down by the fact that many of them are stuck in gyms all around town.
After I reach 38 my goals will be mostly Stardust related.

I'm in the "level 38 club" too. I also feel like this is the first end of the game. Path to level 40 is really long now (40% left !!).
Niantic may raise the level cap to 50 ou 60 in the next months, don't you think ?
I've maxed out less than 10 mons, essantially for gym placement purpose. No need to max attackers above level 32-34 IMO.
Now, I'm piling up stardust in order to react as fast as possible to future Niantic rebalancing/gym rework.
