Legendary Event Eggs?

It doesn't seem to say if the eggs change to that pokemon egg or if you need to get it from the pokestop from March 5th onward.

After March 5 when we know who "wins".

Get rid of the 10k eggs asap, I would think. Ideally, Rayquaza 'wins' Legendary Week and all 10k's spawn Bagons and Beldums, so go on an egg collection frenzy post-March 5. I'm going to stack up on 2k's now to prepare for that.

As a free player, I would try to hoard 2km eggs now. The idea is that incubating my 2km eggs after 5 March would open more slots for better eggs (assuming Rayquaza wins) that I can take my time to incubate (since species is determined when the egg is found).

I hope raids are different in most other areas than in mine. I was able to do only two Rayquaza raids today. The rest were Kyogre and Groudon. And I really want Rayquaza to win.

"Collecting eggs" has no meaning without a qualifier - unless you stop spinning pokestops, you are always collecting eggs up to your maximum capacity. The question should probably one of the following ones:
Do we collect 10km eggs now or AFTER March 5th? Get rid of them now, as their content will not change.
Do we collect 2km eggs now or AFTER March 5th? Collect them now if you do not have enough incubators to empty your egg box in one go on 5th.
