Legendary dogs or cats?

Raikou looks like a saber tooth cat to me, while Entei looks dog-like. Suicune could be either. What do you think?

... but in relation to your question, Op, I thought they were more Cat family than dog before I read up on them and Ho-Oh.

They're beasts.

I've never seen a feline with a snout like Suicune.

Funny thing is I asked the same thing a few weeks ago. I’m not really sure what they are, but to me raikou resembles a feline more than a hound.
