Is there any warning or timeframe given for when moves become legacy?

No, it is likely to happen when new moves are introduced with gen 3 sometime in December.

The data mine showed only like 6 new moves.

When gen 2 came out we got a lot more moves, and I think most Pokémon who had their moves changed received new moves (as opposed to receiving existing old moves). Do we really think they will give a Pokémon a new move from the old move pool? If not, then it's not likely we will see many legacy moves since there's only 6 new ones that won't be tought to most Pokémon.

If the way they post their in-app event announcements is any indication, then it will be a week AFTER it already started. I always get my beast announcements like a week after the month had already begun.
