Legacy Gyarados moves?

Hey there!

I have been out from the game for a few months and now that I'm back I see that Gyarados best moves are Waterfall+HP.

I have an old 98% Gyara with Dragon tail + Outrage, and I was wondering if is it really worth to get the new moves or just keep the old ones. Maybe the two dragon type attacks help me better against some fights, plus there's a plenty of good water type Pokemon that I can always get with hydropump...

What should I do?

It's an odd ball really...double water gyarados will be outdone by kyogre very soon, but it is still in second place.

Dragon Gyarados is in 10th place or something for a dragon fight.

What level is your gyarados and do you have sufficient options to fight Groudon? If you have many options already, leave it as it is. Otherwise, if you need a water attack, TM it.

IMHO against dragons, which is the only use of gyarados with double dragon moves, there are so many other, way better counters. At the moment the double water moveset gyarados is the best water attacker you can have. Kyogre will put it too shame, but unless you are massively hardcore you wont have 6 powered up ones, so even then it will have its use. TM it!

Gyarados with double dragon moves has always been a solid defender. That was before Raikou tho.

In the worst case, you make the attacker switch from Pokemon at least.

Agreed. If anything, Kyogre being so close on the horizon should reduce the urgency to obtain a Gyarados with W/HP. I'm for keeping the legacy set as it has some added capability, but I don't know how rare Magikarp are in your area.
