LEET: has the shiny rate temporarily increased for magby or did I just get very lucky?

I got my first shiny baby pokemon (from a 7km egg I think?) which I understand has an estimated probability of 1:50. To top it off the evolved CP is 1337 (leet) which means I probably won't evolve it. I remember reading something about an eggstraveganza event. Is that still on and if so, has it temporarily increased shiny rates for babies or did I just get very lucky?

Probably some good fortune. I’ve continued to avoid 7km eggs, spun an unusual amount of 10k egg though. 6 purple, running only the infinite and I spent 150 coins to buy 1 incubator (Mareep, Feebas, Feebas, Bagon) Two left to hatch.

I will say Larvitar shiny luck was pretty bad, sunny the entire weekend and I caught all of the larvitar I saw...none were shiny. 75km walked for the week, will see if I get any bonus eggs, have two open spots. The other weeks I was only 35-40 km.

Good luck finding another shiny to evolve into Magmortar :D Who knows, by the time you consider Magmar finally deserve a precious Sinnoh Stone, you might have gotten another one!
