Learned another thing today, but the gym rework will come in probably less than 3 days, though

How on Earth is that:
A level 39 Poliwrath (Bubble/DP) with an 11 DEF IV and a certain ATK IV can beat a level 39 Blissey (ZH/DG) with about 2–3 HP left in the battle simulation.
A level 39 Poliwrath (Bubble/DP) with an 15 DEF IV and the certain ATK IV can't actually beat a level 39 Blissey (ZH/DG) in the battle simulation.

I think it is because of the rounding issue of DG, resulting in a different energy gain.

It probably depends on how frequently DG ticks. There's no way to ensure the AI is going to use a charge move. I've faced gyms where I've launched two stone edges before one hyper beam. Sometimes I can barely get my first SE in before a HB.

Lets replace Hyper beam with say, aqua tail. Theoretically AT should hit before you can even launch a SE. Sometimes it just doesn't work that way though.

Always this...

Like people say Gary can be killed before firing off a single HP, but since HP is a fast move, if you can fire off 2 or 3 charge moves attacking, then Gary will certainly have enough energy to launch a HP as well...Sometimes, he just doesn't (random) and is very easy to beat, but it's not 100% certain.

Just a question...did you check the time? Can Poliwrath actually do it before timing out?

People put much too much faith into simulators like PokeBattler. In my experience, they are not as accurate as people seem to think they are. They are modeled on assumptions (which are sometimes/often wrong) and simply can't duplicate real life combat (at best they can loosely approximate it). They can't capture the randomness of game play very well either. But if you insist on trusting them, go ahead.
