Learned another thing about Raids which can screw you over.

So yesterday my wife and I teamed up with 2 other players to take down a Moltres Raid Boss. Gym controlled by Valor.
Me- 35 Valor
Wife- 34 Valor
Other two players were 38 Valor and 35 Instinct.

Moltres had Overheat so it sucked getting hit with the dodge glitch.

Anyways I'm just now realizing this today after reading through some of these posts that your damage contributed resets after all your Pokemon faint.

Here's the kicker. My line up was way stronger than the other 3 players. I was the last one to lose all 6 of my Pokemon and because of this, I was rewarded the least amount of balls compared to everyone else.

This is because since I revived my Pokemon last, the other 3 players were already building back up the invisible damage gauge contributed to the Raid while I was still on my initial damage gauge. So by the time I revived my squad again and came back in the fight, there was really not much time left for me to "contribute" damage even though I technically dealt the most overall.

I was awarded only 9 balls, while everyone else got 11-13. We even showed each other our line up and I had a the strongest lineup Pokemon for Pokemon with the exception of 1. The level 38 had like a 3500+ CP Tyranitar to my 3300+ CP one. His highest Golem used was almost 200 CP lower than my weakest Golem used. All my IVs are 91%+ too.

Yes, that is annoying. Some people stay out of the fight when they faint to get more balls. As soon as you reenter, all the damage you've done before doesn't matter any more which is just stupid.

The people that stay out totally suck. They spend less resources than others. My fix? I just back out too. Stay in or ya get nothing.

I seriously didn't understand it at the time whatsoever. We were just excited to beat it with 4 but looking back on it now, it sucks how the system works. I've seen people not go back in after losing all 6 Pokemon in previous raids and now I know why.

If I happen to die, I just wait till the raid is over and get +3 damage if possible.

The best solution. If you suspect all might faint before end of battle, run out after your top 2 mons faint, max revive, reset and go in with top 6.

Yes. Quite a number of times. Your damage counter will reset so you are assuming you will faint out towards the end of battle with lineup of 6 and basically using 8 mons to complete the battle.
