Have you seen an egg leaning on a gym? Does it mean anything special?

Means the graphics code has a bug.

Put a Fearow in a gym today, and got the gym to go from short to tall. But my Fearow didn't get the message, and was inside the column, not on top of it. Weird looking, like he was in jail or something.

I see this bug all the time, but only couple of times have seen opposite effect: defender levitating way above demotivated gym.
